With the class stacked with so much talent there are a lot of dark horses. It will make for some great racing. Unfortunatly the TV camera will be pointed at the front of the pack and we will miss some great racing outside the top 3

I kinda like Jake Weimer.

Josh Hill if he gets back up to where he was a couple years ago, and I think Weimer will do well also. Can't count out Stroupy and Tickle either though.

I have got to go with Millsaps or Tedesco for my dark horses.

Also for the Millsaps baggers, I'm not sticking up for him but most of his break out rides have come when he is healthy. While on Honda and JGR he stepped up both seasons when he was uninjured. The sad part about this is that he got injured in season 1 of his two year contracts. Last year he was clearly the fastest outside of the top 5 IMO. I expect him to do the same this year.

IMO Tedesco is simply due for a good season. We haven't seen anything from him near his potential since he first moved up to the 450 class on the Suzuki. He's simply had bad luck.

Man, I completely agree. No one else had said Hahn, and after seeing his speed on the RacerX vid, he looks good.

There won't be any "dark horses", the same top 5 will be trading wins ,, just like last year.

Windham actually came close to winning a race last year and did well at Vegas. No one is saying his name, so he is my dark horse. I could see him on the podium in a race or two next year. I think he is the leader of pack after the Fab 5.

If he comes to A1 with this Frank Zappa mustache, he may be unbeatable.

I really like the Stroupe pick. He gets good starts and has the speed. Im not sure of his work ethic but excited to see what he has. I also like Hanny and Weimer as stated they will both have good equipment to make the move. I was also thinking of Hahn but not sure he has the equipment like mathes said. He is riding though for so much as Im sure he feels like he is faster than alot of guys who have better rides than he does. I am really expecting something from Short as well. We all know he knows how to get starts on that bike. And lets face it, when we are talking about places 5-15 the start is going to make all the difference. I dont think those guys have the ability to charge through the pack like the top 5 do. I think it really hurt short last year as hes fast enough to hold guys off but maybe not real more than just a few guys in. Im also excited to see what Morais (sp) has. He can ride SX and im not saying him for top 5 but is he a guy that can make mains every night and maybe bump guys like Blose from making mains.

Im so excited for this season, not only for the big 5 but for the 10 guys fighting for the next 10 spots. Just making mains is going to be impressive.

That's a beautiful animal. I'm taking Josh Hill for the Dark Horse in the 450 class for 2012. He's looking real good in the latest vid's posted here. I'm thinking he's regretting his idiotic back-flip attempt and he's coming back with a silent vengeance that is going surprise many of his competitors!

Morias and Stroupe.

If Stroupe Trained REAL hard, he would be on the podium all the time. I hope for his sake he figures it out before the window closes.

Brayton, very little talk of him coming in.

Metty and Millsaps are the other two, Metty second year on the 450, and the past has shown Millsaps has the speed in him to run with the big 5 , Well 4 until Canard returns.

Hurry up A1

I'm looking for some results from Austin Stroupe this year...he had the speed to stay with Pourcel in the east coast lites in 2010 until he got hurt. Now he is healthy and should be near the lead of the second pack.
Looks fast! Training a bit skeptical?

I really liked what I saw in that video of Stroupe....
We'll see in a few days, but of all the video's I've seen, (apart from JS and RV), Stroupe looked the best.

Stroupe would be my dark horse I think. He's been at the front of the 450 pack before and doesn't back down.
Honorable mention to Short. Can't forget he was a top 2 and 3 finisher just a few years back.

Brayton has beeen crawling up the ladder--and I mean that in a good way. It seems that, while in small increments, Justin has been making solid improvements every single year since his transition from AX to pro SX and MX. While there are a lot of wild cards out there, I feel like Brayton is a sure bet as a dark-horse cracking into the elite top 5.

Would be nice to see him do well, no question he has the talent.. A few people were talking about this at the track yesterday.. Maybe he got a wake up call and realized how quickly people will write you off without results.
