Big picture, how long does the US turn a blind eye to the resurgence of the 125?

Really? I guess Yamaha doesn't count?

Anyhoo.... Can you do me a solid and explain to me how the hell a companies success in SX and MX has any significance on sales? I'll make it easier for you, do you buy your bikes because they have won a championship in SX?

I personally don't care what brand wins what (obviously). I have spent a majority of my riding career on Kawasakis with only a few years on on others. I got this new TM because I wanted a new 2T that wasn't a Yamaha or KTM. Also because of my job in the industry I wanted to buy a a new bike that wouldn't piss any of my dealers off because I didn't buy it from them. I would have gone the Husky route (I know people at Husky and rode for them years back) if I could not have got the TM. I still have my KX250AF and will probably always have a Kawi dirt bike in may garage, but I gotta say I like what TM is doing! Oh and as for parts, so far it has been a non issue. Everything I have ordered has been in stock. Go here for pics: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fast-Guy-Enterprises/140539694672?ref=ts

Your KTM250 is new isn't it? I'd go with the 300 kit and report back with a review of it.Wink

I am going to do the 300 kit when I have to put a piston in it. I still want the TM though. Smile I'm writing an article for twostrokemotocross.com when I finish doing my pipe test for the bike. I will also write one for the 300 kit and post it here.

There's a TM dealer 20 minutes from my house. Parts are available no problem. On a side note...there's also a new TM race team going to be racing the Canadian Nationals this summer. Should be interesting to see how the sky blue team does.

It’s not 1985 where you are dependent on a dealer to order parts, in this day and age of the interweb why would parts availability or dealer support be a decision point in purchasing a new 2 stroke? Even back in 1985 I never went to a dealer to have my bike worked on and the only support they provided me was 10% off parts and I am sure you can beat that on the internet every day of the week!

I say buy the damn thing and have a blast with it… not to mention you will have a bike that less than 5% of the country has ever even seen in person!

you are joking right? its the same engine. and the ktm is and has been a 144. when they up the model years on the ktm, they have a habit of upping the displacement number without upping the actual displacement. i.e. their 510/520/525

the tm uses the same motor.

I wish all the bikes had an internal thread cut into the end of the shifting-shaft to use an 8mm bolt to hold the shifter on. Such a better idea than a pinch shifter with the bolt that points down and usually right into the frame rail.

TM has always manufactured their own engines from start to finish.

I've ridden a 125. Light-switch motor; very hard to ride compared to Yamaha or KTM.

From the TM Racing web site:

We have plans for a new TM racing team for the 2012 Canadian Motocross season that will be announced soon and we will be attending several Canadian Nationals as well as competing in the Quebec Provincials. The new team will make its debut at the Toronto Supercross and will also attend a couple US Motocross Nationals.
