I don't support MX's desire to suppress anything that could be negative. Yet we can talk about Christianity because it will win fans.

DF has a point imo. If media is going to show us people's lives, then tell us more than the watered down version of what that person is about. What the riders are really like as people is basically a big mystery unless you're in the know. We do know how great they are - giving to charity, taking pictures with kids, being religious etc.. What we don't know is the rest of what what makes them human.
I suggest Jlaw has gained fans because people know he makes mistakes. He's like us, albeit more extreme. He isn't boring. He also loses fans because of this, but wouldn't we all? Isn't reality better than BS? I don't want to excuse his ear biting and the like, but he's an interesting character. Part of what makes him interesting is that he isn't freaking perfect.
Does everyone really want riders to be held up as examples of wonderful human beings? If you want your kids to look up to someone, wouldn't it be nice if they looked up to someone who made, and then learned from mistakes? Someone who is believable when they say "such and such is a bad idea" because they've actually lived a life where bad stuff happens?
It would be nice to hear if a rider makes an ass out of himself once in a while. Not because I love gossip, but because I'd like the guys I root for to be portrayed as normal. Most everything we're fed is picture perfect lives, or nothing at all.

I got to interview Trey at Hangtown 2010, he is a very nice guy, he didn't need to give me the time for the interview after a long day racing but he did anyway...and I appreciated that a lot. ( Thanks to mom241 as well) He is a true role model for young kids and inspiration for other christians (young and old) as well. Trey is just the same off camera as he is on it.
I don't see why people are offended by what he believes in, even if you some of you guys don't believe in the same thing he is still a great person, very humble, and a fantastic rider for the sport.
I am not an Andrew Short fan because I think he is taking a ride from someone who might actually win.
Fastest Trey that I am aware of
"Every Picture Tells A Story, Don't It?"
You don't have to agree. You can even dislike him for it. That's your prerogative. But he's earned the right to say what he wants to say. If you don't like it, start training!
I do like Trey. He is not only a solid guy he has personality.
As for me and training I might have a better chance of being able to fellate myself than make a main these days!
