Kevin and Tracie will be there all day tomorrow. He is going to try starting riding some tomorrow....not race, but get a few laps in and see how it feels.

OK...here's a cool story.....my "FACTORY RIDER FOR A WEEKEND" story!
I was really on the bubble to drive 9.5 hours each way to quailfy for the Nat. Qfr' and I really was not in the mood to do this race for several reasons.

My concerns were my Kawi 450 is sold and I don't want to piss off the Moto Gods by riding a pissed off bike. It will go out of it's way to throw you off. As I was talking to Kevin (kw859) last week, he say's "Come on up and ride my bike, I ain't usin' it!" I was really blown away at the offer, but still had some reservations about the drive....

Here steps in Rnagy052 from the board....He says "Meet at my house in Jax and you can ride up with me." Well, pretty cool....I say I have to figure out some place to stay....he says "I got a room for three nights with an extra bed." Awesome.

I call kw859 back and tell him it's a done deal. Welp, KW goes out to the track the day before we get there, parks his race van in a prime location, put up 3 ez-ups for us (and the BIG EGO sign-see above), brings his pressure washer, 85 gallons of water, 10 gallons of gas, a cooler filled with ice and drinks, a generator, 2 spare wheels (all with new rubber), 2 fans and 2 bike stands all ready and waiting when we get there. He then shows up practice morning (yesterday), before going to work, sets my sag, gearing, Fastco Bar flex and sweep, and tire preasure, shows me how to start the 'dog and warms up the bike and says "Have fun, I'll see you for dinner later tonight; Tracie's (mxwife) got some dinner for us at 7!" Well after an awesome dinner and a few hours of bench racing, we head back to the hotel. Awesome.

So...this morning, KW shows up to the track at 7 and wrenches for me the whole early morning (til he has to go to work). We knock out 2 practices and he gets to see the first moto holeshot.....now I know that I have a bigger smile on my face coming out of the first turn not because I'm in the lead, but because i know how Kevin enjoyed helping out and seeing results. I really felt like a superstar! I didn't keep the lead (2nd), but rode really well and was very happy with my ride.

We just got back from dinner Kev and Tracie with some new friends we (me and rnagy052) met at the track today...they mentioned that it was really hot in the trailer last night and Kev pulls his Van keys (which is still at the track) and offers up his (not being used) generator and fans to the new friends he just met at the resturant. They will be very comfy tonight.

We're meeting at the track tomorrow at 7:30 and if you are there, please stop by and say "Hi". Would love to bench race.....we have half the 2nd motos to go and all of the third motos....should be fun.

By the way - Thank you so much Kevin and Tracie Walker.....Factory Rider for a Weekend!
Now I'm going for a drive in a rental car I found at the hotel with the keys in it.....

Kevin has always been a hero in my mind and Tim's story just bunched him (& Tracie) have just been bumped up another notch. Now I am even more proud of the KW 859 jersey I picked up at the Ride4AT event a few years ago!

Nice story, Tim!! that kind of deal/treatment is just awesome. The Walker's definitely are the kind of folks who make moto cool for everyone!

This is one of the best motoboard posts in a LOOOOOOONG time and GuyB is right.
