I know the 2004-2007 were junk(similar to the 04-60 Hondas), thats why was asking about the the valvetrain and cranks of the 2010/2011's.

I read the MXA article and like every bike review, I take it with a grain of salt.

The MXA review is what got me interested and also worried. The technology sounds good, but you only use it when revving the bike.

" At high rpm, the 2012 KX250F holds strong, while the 2011 wavers and then falls off significantly (as much as four horsepower)."

While thats nice, you have to keep it screaming in order to get that power and valves start to not be so happy at those revs..

Every one around here lost the right fender bolt on the 2011..lol..We had to take the bike back to the shop a few times to change out parts..like front brake rotor..front forks..Trying to get the forks dialed...well good luck..

The rotor would drag..like if u had the bike on the stand and spun the front wheel..it would only go around once..it was new..they replaced it..the forks..with my son at 135 lbs with all his weight on the front end..could not get them to compress...front brake on pushing as hard as he could...so we took it back and pulled some off another bike..

Showa SFF is fun to work with. Easier and more versatile to tune than a standard set. Might get some into trouble with all the adjustments that can be made. 2011 almost everyone complained about being soft. You can either change the spring or cheat a bit and add some oil on the RH if its too soft on high impacts. Yours must have been binding or something assembled wrong, bad deal. Other bikes set worked better?

Motocross action just did a write up on their website and they said this is the best stock 250F motor they have ever rode. It has 39.8 horse stock! Read their test its a good read and explains a lot about the second injector which only turns on later in the powerband.
also they did a article on the dual injector and how it is pretty much here to stay. apparently dual has been done for years in road bike world. for me i would get a rmz250 if i was going 4 stroke.

I agree the RMZ iam told is the best for 2012...fast..crisp throttle..handles great..who could ask for more..

One of my buddies I ride with got one. I got to ride it at Glen Helen and I have to say that Kawaski is definitely a racers bike. That motor pulls for days. There was power everywhere but the more you rev it the more power it had. That thing blows the doors off every 250f I've ridden besides the 11 RMZ.

I rode my 2011 kawi 250f back to back with an '11 rmz and thought the kawi was faster. That might be due to the aggresive feel of the kawi motor compared to the smooth long pull of the rmz, the rmz also can turn circles around the kawi but the kawi doesn't handle horrible.
