#3 WorldSBK
#4 V8 Supercar Series
#5 GP2 Series
#6 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (gonna take some flack for that one, but the racing is on point...Nationwide or Sprint Cup can't touch it)
somewhere towards the bottom is F1, its great for travel and the ambiance but the "race" is just 58 qualifying laps IMO.
per wikipedia:
(It was announced on December 11, 2008 that Trans Am would be returning in 2009, with former champion Greg Pickett sponsoring the series with the Muscle Milk brand, using the SCCA's GT-1 category rules. The first race was held March 22, 2009. The revived series utilized the same vehicle rules as SCCA's amateur GT-1 class, providing top GT-1 competitors a professional series to progress to. Tomy Drissi was the first champion upon the series' return.
The Trans Am Series has yet to re-establish a television contract, having lost its connections with Speed Channel upon the series' hiatus from 2007-08. Also, the World Challenge still receives priority on the Versus television network.
In 2011, in an effort to increase grid sizes which typically numbered in the single digits in 2010, the Trans Am Series will introduce two additional classes of competition in addition to the 2010 spec which will race as "TA1". The new TA2 class will consist of SCCA GT2 and GTA class cars while the new TA3 class will consist of SCCA GT3 class cars. This is the first time that the series will feature more than one class of competition since 1979.)
no where near the same series.
would be cool to bring back a new trans-am series with the new generation pony cars:
Dodge Challenger
Ford Mustang
Chevrolet Camaro
could use this as a jumping off point.
Turbo Briggs!
With all the complaining about car racing just going 'round in circles, I'm trying to figure out a way to get my Zero-radius into the action.

we don't get to see BSB here in the states, but I follow that series almost as much as MotoGP or WorldSBK. BSB has to be the most intense and competitive national production based series in the world. I think the most intense and strongest national series in the world be it production based or not would be the Spanish CEV Buckler series, which has produced the likes of Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, Marc Marquez, Maverick "Mack" Vinales, Pol Espargaro & Aleix Espargaro.
PurpleNurple: great call on AMA Sportbike, the closest thing to a Moto2 style race in the states.
Tommy Hill vs. John Hopkins (one lap for the title 2011 BSB Superbike Champion) enjoy
Best of BSB 2011 enjoy
