Seen the racer x update on a qualifier in Hawaii with a date, so I assume dates are set. Anyone know where to find it? How about if Texas will still have its regional in Colorado?

They aren't set yet, but the Hawaii race is. Look for everything in a day or two.

So, less people in other regions are going to get spots? No offense, dumb.

No, it's just part of the Southwest Region. It's one of several area qualifiers to choose from. Not dumb, fair to the riders in Hawaii who have to travel to the mainland every year for Areas as well as Regionals.

Thanks DC! I can't wait to get all my vacation days set! I sure hope my regional is a reasonable drive this year! Is the 125 class a done deal also?

OK, I see. WIll that lower the number of other SW area qualifiers to make it to the SW Regional?

No, the same number as always will go, it just means one of the area events will be in Hawaii this year.

OK, not dumb.

Out of curiosity how many Hawaiians make it to Areas/Regionals and the big show?

Maybe none if they don't qualify at the regional.

Geezus

How do people come up with some of the stuff they do to freak out about?

How many Hawaiians qualify?

Probably not many if they have to come to the Mainland twice to qualify.

What kind of jerk would try to and make the process a little easier.

All at the cost of some kind of imaginary inconvenience to boarddesign that somehow upsets that delicate balance of his life.

Damn Hawaiians!

Damn DC!

It is a Big conspiracy!!!!

Call 5-0 and get that hot asian chick on it.

I doubt DC is over there on Vacation. In fact I bet he is working on something big. SO big boarddesign's head will explode...........Maybe a few others too..

Don't take any chances. Gat down to the store and get some aluminum foil to make hats.

I'm a racer out here in Hawaii, and we have quite a bit of fast kids out here who can hold their own. They've just never been given the opportunity to make it to the big show because of financial reasons. A Loretta Lynn's trip with qualifiers and all expenses would cost somewhere around 5-10 thousand… Now factor in the current economy and you have yourself quite a pickle. Just cause we're in Hawaii doesn't mean were lesser than anyone, just means we have more of a handicap to make it to the big show. Now taking away one of those qualifiers would eliminate 1500-3000 dollars worth of expenses, which would make it a little more affordable for families to try. Thanks to AMA for allowing us the opportunity.

If the kid is born November 25-th, 1997 can he ride 85cc at LL next year? To make it easier for you- kid is 13 now , he`ll be 14 in a month and he`ll be 15 at the end of next year.

I think its pretty cool they are doing it. I won't be trying, to old, slow, and deploying in the near future. There are some pretty fast people here. I couldn't imagine the cost to try to qualify in the past, and then to have to pay a lot to go to Loretta's. Kudos to DC and MX Sports for expanding.

Kongols, are you asking for that Pauls Jonass kid? I heard he is extremely fast. Won the 85cc FIM Junior Cup over Chase Bell, which means flat-out flying.

DC,

I think he is talking about Jonass' teammate at the FIM. I have offered to get them set up with a bike and a place to stay while qualifying. Just waiting for the schedule so we can figure out the most economical way to do it.

When I went in 09 I pitted next to a guy who was in 30B/C that was from Hawaii. Cool dude, and he did all of his qualifying(and racing the national) on a borrowed bike.

So he will be 14 on January 1st. That means he has 4 classes potentially to try.

NO, I`m asking for Thomas Sileika. Pauls Jonass is off of 85cc and he`s full time 125cc. Thomas was in front of Bell in moto one and while in third place just three laps to go got a punctured front tire and had to stop. He got 5-th place in moto2.
