Who was Jasons little buddy -TJ Webber?
(he was quick on 60's)

I remember Ulven also -wasnt he from Idaho?

Who was the asian kid who's dad hit the lottery...Nyguyen ?

Also - Chad Reed from Salem Oregon- was fast on 80's and won Vegas and kicked some azz at LL's & Ponca.

Off the top of my head..here are some other names you might remember from up that way that were pretty quick privateers.

Tony Graves

Graysen Heart

Darren Rodgers

Mike Bell (different then calis Bell)

Jeff Daily

Don Biscelgia

Eric Hall

Jimmy Anderson

Brett Woodring

I could name many more. Smile

Another guy who was fast from up that way, was a fellow by the name of Jason Balaski -very quick A-class Rider. His career was cut short when he went to prison for 7 years for attempted Murder in 1990/1991ish. I was up that way visiting a friend about 3 years ago and I turned the news on and there was a grown up Jason , just sentenced to 85 years in prison from First Degree murder along with some other goons.Crazy shit!
Washington state's Jim Anderson is racing vintage bikes with AHRMA.He just moved back east and still hauls ass.

Brian Bruner still ives in Arizona and does not ride any more but his two boys Buddy and Bailey ride. Buddy will be riding nationals next year. Good kids.

Troy Blake as of last year also was in Arizona and working for a bike shop, rode a little a few years ago and I have not heard or seen anything lately.

Brian Roth (Slippy) lived with me in the 90's, it was him, Deegan and I, Brian is one of the funniest guys I know, he and Spud Walters kept me in stitches. Weds nights in Canyon Lake, were "family night" we would rotate it to someones house every week, but then everyone realized (all racers) I made the best spaghetti so it always seemed to be at my house, at one point we had 30 people there...Slippy, Brandes, Casey Johnson, Turtle Wikoff, Scott Meyers, Spud, Travis Preston, Deegan, McGrath came a couple times, Button, it was a lot of fun, just food and bench racing...

Yeah Slippy is like maybe 5'7 ? his hot wife Melissa is 5'9 I think ? I still see Brian every year at Hangtown, he looks exactly the same, never ages.

All below is some that I remember off top of my head that were good 80 riders.....

Brian Roth, AKA "Slippy". Saw him at either E, 10th or Prarie City while back...still ridin'; had ton potential.
Brian "Spud" Walters. Last know he test rode for Honda while back.
Brett Racine. Bad knees; had to quit. Saw like a yr ago at E. Doin' good.
Donovan Mitchell. (His accident broke my heart).
Jesse Ketcham(of Peanuts comic strip family).
Tyler Evans.
Jeff Northrup
JJ Taylor....
Chad Burleson
Justin Tierney
Danny Nelson...(RIP)
Ray Crumb.
Lammy, Vohlands
Dan and Vince Blair
Ryan Morias
Steve Mertens(Was doin' good WSX several yrs ago, got hurt....haven't heard since)
Terry Bostard. One of the fastest 80 riders from here I recall ever seein'... Think he still does the MX schools.
Beau Judge (He was amazin' on 50/60's..)

Northwest guys.......Cory Bauder.......???

Cory Bauder was fast , he won a title a LL in 92 or 93 and turned pro shortly after....I am pretty sure he is a priest or a minister of some sort...... he used to have some good battles with Jimmy Lamastus ...Do you remember that kid?

Yeah Terry Bostard flew at Sandhill Ranch, both his parents were awesome too, such a supportive moto family.

Cory showed up at Riverfront during a '94 Golden State; thought he'd be somethin' good, but as in many cases don't pan out....now a priest or minister...kinda of a trip.

LaMastus was a tough rider from what I remember; his career didn't seem to last all that long though....he had his moments he hauled...

Sondy, Bostard definetely hauled....but, got hurt at most inopportune times...Don't remember his family, but remember he was a blazer at Sandhill....Slippys dad was like a ROTC teach at a Sac Area HS....same school I think that the "Parts In the Pits" guy Rich Fern (Dirt Digger) worked...Hiram Johnson HS...

surratt, mouse, and in the late 80's Antunez . Man! the talent was deep back then! How about Kalos pulling a huge holeshot at like 13 years old in the 125 pro class goldenstate at carlsbad. I remember they telivised all of the goldenstates on the outdoor network. I still have them somewhere. They had the 80's one year with wiggens, joel albrect, Butch smith and antunez going at it. I think Butch Smith grew about a foot and a half that next year.

Last race I saw Hicks at was the 87 Houston Supercross, he was KX mounted and was the only 125 that could do the triple. He got 3rd behind Turpin and Tichenor.

Troy Blake owns one of the best motorcycle shops in Mesa Arizona. I'm sure he would like to hear from his old friends. His number is 480-503-4100.

I have known Troy for many years. He did not follow Ron Lechien's way of life.

Ummmmm, are you sure that was Paul Denis? I don't remember the "where are they now" stories about him mentioning a serious head injury.

Hmm, I always wondered what happened. I heard he burned out and quit, but surely Sondra or someone knows for sure.

Lots from that era just up and disappeared. I always figured most discovered girls.

It wasnt Paul Dennis it was Johner Knight, a honda support rider. He was a factory honda 80 rider who had a good ride but about killed himself , he was not breathing for a few minutes. A good guy who had a bad brek.

Paul Dennis did burn out and just walked away.

Did he survive?

Let's see some pictures.

That's what I thought. He was one of my favorite riders.

Troy passed away in 2009

Buddi Bruner, Bryan's son, is out for 6+ months with an ankle injury, may be done riding all together. Bryan rides once or twice a year.
