Well if it runs all day it should beat the Cobra hands down.

and has for along time .... now Cobra owns the 50's but this KTM 65 should keep them on the top of the 65 heap for awhile longer....

Pay much attention to the amatuer nationals lately? They may own it because the gate is full of them, but the Cobras are winning a fair amount for how many bikes they have on the line.

I love the styling. KTM is the top dog in the 65 class

for now. We'll see what unfolds over the next few years. Cobra is putting a very competetive bike on the line right now and it is bound to get better. They just need a bigger market share. Time will tell.

What's the KTM 150 sx they note below? An upgraded 144, or a mini fourbanger?

WTF are you talking about? Cobra aint winning shit in the 65's. I don't know of but one in 3 states around here and that is because they gave it to him.

I had one Cobra and it will be the last- Fast but absolutely the biggest POS I ever owned.

Actually, Michael Young won a National Title in the 65 7-9 Mod Class this year at Lake Whitney on a Cobra CX65. My son's 04 Cobra King has been a great bike. It looks like hell but it flies when he will twist the throttle.

Other than the plastic and e-start, it really doesn't look all that different from the one my son rode a few years ago.

I don't think the 65 has e-start. I think it is just missing the kicker in the photo.

We have an 08 and an 03 KTM 65. I love the styling of the 09 but it's a completely different bike and it will be a while before there are enough people with them at the races that know them inside and out like they do the current edition. It is nice to have several people within a stones throw to help you diagnose an issue or to possibly loan you a part.

We have had a Cobra and I'm sure they aren't all junk but we had enough problems to never think about owning one again.

Very cool but what the fug is up with the side number plates? You would have to use 1/2" numbers. Hell on the full size KTM's guys are running helmet numbers. They really have to change that shit.

Well actually you use the airbox as the other half of the numberplate and you could fit a regular sized number

I like the side plates on the KTM's. It probably helps engine cooling by letting heat get away from the silencer and air to move over it.. And we know that the big four strokes can definitely use all the cooling help they can get..
