I think I'll keep my 2006. At least they are still building them...

New for 2009:

Dunlop D742A front tire has an innovative knob pattern for excellent grip and handling.

New seat cover has great grip and more durability, and it’s easy to clean.

Premium drive chain has gold colored plates for outstanding looks.

Front brake hose clamp is now aluminum, greatly reducing its weight.

I'm a 4 stroke guy, but I'm glad to see Yamaha is going to sell the YZ250 and YZ125 for 2009.

Thought '08 was the last yr. for Jap smokes.
Like the "great" weight savings from that brake clamp.

If EFI comes out for the smokers, it would keep it going many more years.
KTM maybe the first, if at all. Yammie already makes EFI smoke motors for other rec. vehicles.
If KTM MSRP went up $1,000 from last yr, imagine what an EFI two smoke would cost.

Didn't KTM prices make a jump due to our weak dollar vs the Eruo?

Basically the same model as a 2005. Sad that this is what the moto world has come to. They should just completely freeze development and sell these things brand new for $4000. That would fix things in a hurry.

Unbelievable...Still making the 2 strokes for 2009 what im most surprised about is that they still make the 125 when hardly anyone buys them, they all go for the 250f .Smile

The US and Australia dont buy many two strokes, but if you check out local events in Europe and the UK (not GP's) there are still shit loads of new two strokes out there in the clubman classes.

There are a lot of 125s sold still. In Schoolboy and they are getting more popular in the Vet classes now. I see a lot of old froggers out there riding YZ125s . More fun.

they are long over due for a makeover BUT yamerha isnt going to put anymore $$ into it as they plan on discontinuing it... sad with a makeover it would look as cool as the ktm's...
