Anybody got any ideas for makin a homemade tire changer as good as the WRP tire changer?

Cheaper to go the Harbor Freight route.

I think my barrel is a 25 gallon . I put some rubber hose with zipties on the rim and can do anything but 50 tires on it .

I have changed 3 tires in a row without pinching a tube or using the Lords name in vain. I could not do that when I was 20. Oh yea they were done with tire irons and a standard work bench.

Use the tailgate of your truck. That is how I did it before I bought the tire changer. It is worth the $135. If you know how to weld build your own, If not show a welding shop a picture and I am sure they can build you one for around $300.

I can change tires with my eyes closed I've been doing it so long with tire irons. Takes me about 10-15 mins now.
The trick is to use at least 3 of them, a hammer, and some lubricant.

Plain old 5 gallon bucket works almost as well and you can carry stuff in it.

My dad uses a car wheel on the bottom as a stand and then another about 3 foot above attached to a pole. Its lined with a hose and zip ties. and welded some fabricated pieces to the side which are removeable to hold the opposite bead on the rim of the mx wheel. He can change a tire with a bib mousse in about 7 minutes

SOMEBODY post the Dunlop videos.....good golly gee whiz Bambi.....sorry, watching too much Scrubbs. The answer is a steel trashcan and changing 100 tires. That will always work.

The last 5 tires I have had the shop put them on for me. At 20 bucks a pop it was starting to add up so I just ordered 2 12' tire spoons and a bead buddy and plan on getting on with it.

A milk crate, 3 tire irons. rubber mallet and plenty of soapy water. Oh and one of those Motion Pro thingis helps. and deep breaths.
