mike and jeff are two good kids that can flat haul ass on a scooter. i am so glad mike is off that pile of shit now too. i talked to tony at pala and it's all good between us. i have always liked tony but i questioned his methods and attitude towards mike the racer. i think tony has learned a thing or two and has "grown up" a bit concerning his race day face .

Stewart's performance problems involve him crashing into other riders and that can't be fix by changing brands.

Disagree

A better handling bike allows for a rider to be more in control of the bike. Therefore...JS7 is less likely to run into other riders and be more consistent in his riding level and pace every lap.

He plowed into other riders with the same consistency on a Kawasaki.

Or a better handling bike may allow him to zero in on the other riders with more precision and take out more of them.

It all depends on perspective I guess.

I understand your point. No brand of bike moves him to the top of the heap but I'm optimistic that he has more potential on a Suzuki.

I think the outdoor lineup for 2012 may be the toughest top 10 that I can recall. Villopoto, Dungey, Reed, Canard, Barcia, Alessi, Grant, Milsaps, Metcalfe and possibly Stewart.

I know some people don't think a bike makes much difference but Villopoto won the championship when they switched to the 2012 KX450. He won 5 of 16 motos before the switch and 5 of 8 motos after the switch. That's pretty definitive proof that something about the new bike made him perform better.
I agree that a bike can make a difference, even in Stewart's case. The problem I have is he has publicly complained about every bike he hasn't been able to win on, despite the fact that the main reason was a guy named Ricky.

I do think Alessi will be better on the Suzuki, but he still won't be better to the point if running RV and Dungey pace.

On another note, I keep seeing Barcia being included in 450 racing. Isn't he dropping back down to fulfill his GEICO contract in 2012 indoors and out?

Yes, you will see him on a Geico 250 for SX, as for outdoors, pretty sure Trey has that spot on lockdown

Hopefully they will have Barcia 250 indoors and 450 outside. If that's possible.

I don't think that being on the best bike is as important to these guys as much as believing in thebike they are on. If they go to the line with doubts in their head the race is already over. I think that's why the 350 hasn't had that good of results, Alessi and Short weren't believing they could win on it. Success brings confidence and confidence brings more success.

I hear you, nothing wrong being optimistic! Smile I assume you mean factory Zook though? Still no DeCoster and Goose? Pretty hard to come to any conclusion without any insight whatsoever in the industry. I would bet my horses wherever DeCoster goes though... Smile

Not true, he won the sx long before he had the 2012 frame. In the latter motos, Reed became an also ran - he was never back up to speed after that crash. So 50% of his strongest competition had dropped off the radar. He may like the 2012 frame a little more, but in the results, it didn't make too much difference.

Wow - sounds like 2012 will be a good year for Suzuki if all the rumors are true.

Stewart, Alessi, JGR and a couple satalite teams to boot. That is a lot of yellow on the track. Maybe American Suzuki did know what they were doing?

I do hope Alessi does ride yellow - he was hella fast on the Suzuki.

I'm pretty much cool with all the riders. #800 is only second to #7 for such strong emotions from either side. wow

I mentioned that he had a bike (zuk) built for him in the Stewart JGR thread, it's nice to see a pic of it finally. Next up is PR on Stewart/JGR combo that was inked 2 weeks ago. Smile
