Pit Row
No reason to even mention it in this thread.
Sad news indeed. Condolences to the young man's family.
I know in this sport an accident like this can happen. One second everything is good, and the next second you are flying through the air out of control but two things really bother me about this accident. My first concern is trees along the track. I know that in many cases it is not really possible to get rid of all trees around a track that could become a hazard, but there should be something, hay bales, padding etc, giving some amount of protection. My second concern is the heal clicker. I am not trying to berate this man, but maybe someone can learn from this and prevend another serious injury/death. Doing a little trick over the finish line at the end of the race is one thing, since usually the finish line jumps give decent air time, have fairly clear landing areas etc. However, pulling a trick during a race in the middle of a rythym section is just asking for trouble. A little bobble and you have no time to recover. Sure, everything aligned in this accident to have the worst possible outcome, but it was completely unnecessary and that makes it even more tragic

His crash is pretty knarly, RIP fellow racer.
I heard a few people say he hit a tree butt there were no trees anywhere close to the accident.
Its a trip though, how a not so big crash can take a life, but some people can endo off a triple and walk away....when its your time its your time
Rest in Peace brother,
