Wow, Its a shock to hear that, I have talked with him and raced at the same track in a state championship race (in another class). In Brasil he was one of the top riders like Jorge Balbi. RIP amigo..

I said he (Zanoni) was one of the top riders "like" Jorge Balbi..NOT that he was Balbi, just comparing him for those in the USA that know Balbi and how fast he was. The best to his family and friends

Is he throwing a heel clicker before he lands??? Its hard to see, but it looks like he does a heel clicker and G's out on the landing. That seems to cause his feet to rip off the pegs and its all over from there... Sad deal, hate to see any rider get hurt let alone killed. He did have a Leatt brace on.

Very sad news. It was his first racing after a broken arm.

Swian Zanoni was a great rider and an awesome person! He was freakin fast over here!

This season he was riding for the Martin Honda Team in the GP's series in the MX2 class.

He also was part of the 09 Brazilian Team in the MXdN

A great guy, Ill me missed!!!

Good speed!

it does look like he did a heel click on the first jump, and then landed weird causing him to wreck. very sad, RIP

He usually does a heel clicker on checkers, and i think he can´t complete and landed with his left leg up and out of balance. So Sad. and that was in the last lap, think 1/4 lap to go.

Very sad. Best wishes to his family. If he hit a tree after Ging out and getting pitched over the bars then shame on the track for having a tree that close the the track in a high speed section like that. RIP Swian,

Like you just did....

No reason to even mention it in this thread.

Sad news indeed. Condolences to the young man's family.

From the recent pics I've found, he's wearing something else that looks like a smaller, more compact neck brace that I've never seen before.

So sad, RIP.

I know in this sport an accident like this can happen. One second everything is good, and the next second you are flying through the air out of control but two things really bother me about this accident. My first concern is trees along the track. I know that in many cases it is not really possible to get rid of all trees around a track that could become a hazard, but there should be something, hay bales, padding etc, giving some amount of protection. My second concern is the heal clicker. I am not trying to berate this man, but maybe someone can learn from this and prevend another serious injury/death. Doing a little trick over the finish line at the end of the race is one thing, since usually the finish line jumps give decent air time, have fairly clear landing areas etc. However, pulling a trick during a race in the middle of a rythym section is just asking for trouble. A little bobble and you have no time to recover. Sure, everything aligned in this accident to have the worst possible outcome, but it was completely unnecessary and that makes it even more tragic

Camp, the neck brace he is wearing is called a MR PRO from a Brazilian company

His crash is pretty knarly, RIP fellow racer.

Just saw the crash...was not anything insane, looked like his foot came off in a rhythym section....his bike actually hit some spectators.

I heard a few people say he hit a tree butt there were no trees anywhere close to the accident.

Its a trip though, how a not so big crash can take a life, but some people can endo off a triple and walk away....when its your time its your time

Rest in Peace brother,

Ryan Moscrop
