I keep hearing that he will be on the regular old 450 with the carburetor. I can't see that happening, though. In supercross, one little bog on a step-on- step-off could end your season. I guess we'll see.

Edit: The above post is only stating what I believe riders think. Both of my bikes are carbureted and I don't have issues.

if he is on an 2012 xc what would make it an xc? the wide ratio trans? Im sure a factory trans could fix that.

I could be wrong, but I think they had SX races before fuel injection.

And it's amazing that anyone ever finished a race with those crappy old carbs.

Totally different engine, with different cases, FI & I believe a few pounds lighter. I can't see RD 5 signing on to ride a mut, if he's signed at all.

Best part about him being on KTM is that they can and will build whatever is necessary at the drop of a hat. They will also have time to meet the homo rules as they don't have to be met until the middle of July as we've seen in the past, correct? Meanwhile, back in Japan.....

I don't think I ever had a bike suddenly bog with a carb? Not sure that's really a big issue. McGrath ,Carmichael and countless others seemed to do just fine.

I believe that it is more mental than anything. The riders don't think that carbs work as well in SX as F.I. from what I understand. Doesn't mean that it is 100% true. Maybe being back with Decoster is enough to make Dungey believe he has a great bike. I guess I worded my response incorrectly. I'm sure Dungey and RD can get the bike working regardless.

Also, KTM does not make a 450xc the last time I checked. There is a 450 exc and xc-w, both of which have a new motor that is F.I. and very light.

That's just it....I have never had a carbed 450 bog on me at all. I have a 2008 CRF 450.....and I have never had bog either. I had a 2010 YZF 450.....and because of EFI.....it felt like it was slightly "Bogging" every where hehe. Seriously....I like the motor on my CRF better than the YZF. That's why i switched back.

Wrong.

I heard from a very reliable and trustworthy source that the '13 KTMs will be white, red and teal. They are going back to the mid 80s colors. You heard it here first!

I know it comes with the new FI engine. Its just people talk like he will be riding an xc trail mode when it will be exactly like the 2013 sx450f. What makes it a xc will be all replaced.

It's fuckin hilarious to me how people suddenly think that it is impossible to ride a non-FI bike in supercross!!!

Who cares. If Dungey is on the factory KTM, he's going to have a strong team behind him, and he'll be riding good equipment.

End of story.
