I feel like the riders will be soooo focused on the track it will take away from the racing side of things.

It's not in the desert first of all.
It's not flat, not at all. It isbuilt into a hillside. Remember, you can't tell elevation changes on a lfat screen. It may not have the changes like GH, but there are hills there that are natural, not man made.
8. THE ROUGH: Pala has only been on the national tour for a year but it’s already developed a reputation with the riders as rough and tough. It presents a good mix of big jumps on the flats and rugged up-and-downhills out back. The soil can be deceiving, too, as the sandy sections can really bog an engine down and make routine leaps tough for a 250 (ask Pourcel). Some riders can boast that they practice here a lot, and that seemed to help Dean Wilson last year as he dominated both 250 motos. But the track shapes up much differently for the National weekend. In a final advertised as one where anything can happen, this is certainly the track where it can.
When a huge first turn is called Talledega and a triple step up that requires balls the size of Coconuts to clear is considered natural terrain you let me know.
And for the record I liked Glen Helen too.
I imagine that the other guy who posted in this thread is right (that it is "floating valves" or whatever). I'm not an engine tuner but it doesn't take Mitch Payton to hear that there is something terribly wrong with her engine. She is the defending CHAMPION and that is the best her team can do? What a shame. Even her most clapped out practice bike turd should be running perfectly. I feel bad for her.
Then you have no clue!
I have, but not when it was beefed up the way it is now.
Look in the background, see small hills?? hmmm? well they incorporated those somewhat into the track also. You just can't see it through these vids. The vids and the helmet cams don't do it justice. You have to BE there.
Pit Row
People on here are best at talking shit about people they have never met, riders they have never seen in person, and places they have never been.
Pala is a long lap time, the uphills and downhills get super rough, and the jumps are huge and technical.. What more do you want from a national track?
Yes, I know it's going to change, but it's still not very professional to let people practice on the track.
