fair or not, there were plenty of riders in Group B 1st session that did not get in....I hate the timed qualifying and would much rather see a person have to race to get in, but you can't throw out the "not fair" card if you were in group B 1st session and did not get in.

This is true...I'm just throwing out the "what if" scenario. A track that gets slick can easily drop times off by 10 seconds or more. It's all speculation...I guess i just never gave it much thought until now.

so just because a race is run in a diferent terrain then most other races, and some new names show up, qualifying is now a issue........
it has to be always the same names on top or there is something wrong......but then there is even hope on a dowd great result ...
i guess its not the qualifying that has a problem, i guess there is a lot more to the sport of motocross then some people here are used to........
It's all about fairness, buddy. Clearly, the system wasn't fair today.
sorry but i can't just let the hipocrisy of your though go by..........
so you think that a local amature that takes a litle advantage of track condition and weather trying to qualify fro a race where he will bw up against million payed pros on million worth factory bikes is unfair.............
and i thougt i have seen it all......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Southwick

Locals haul ass there, and the track is constantly changing.

Nothing new here. nothing unfair, just didn't work for some of the top guys today. The only thing that would make qualifying better here is to not use the times of the first practice.

Just goes to show what a CRF450R with a bolt on exhaust, Air4orce intake, and some FC suspension work is capable of.

BTW Mike threw down his second fastest time 1.58 on the last lap of the first session, The track wasn't that much different at that point than when the A group went out.

I just want to thank all the top riders who stopped by to congratulate us in staging. Especially the Alessi's, Tony and Mike who started it. Class Act. The top 3 did not.

Nice Job Mike.

Was anyone on here actually there? It didn't start raining until the end of the group A session. The rain was not the issue. Not to mention that the 250 group B goes last, has the roughest track and is at the biggest disadvantage bike wise. This happens every week to those guys but no one says anything. As far as the 450 group B guys they deal with a swamp every week and cut in the lines for the group A guys and now that it works out in there favor for once people don't think its fair. Well in a perfect world they would all be on stock bikes with only gearing, internal suspension, and bar changes. Now that would be fair.

Oh and if it had stayed dry, our young guys would have been much more impressive.

X2. Love to see the NESC guys in the mix at the Southwick National. I liked his interview, he was just pumped to be on the line with all those National guys.
