My dad lives in Cumberland R.I. and he thinks you should be OK until Monday at least.

They've actually changed the model over the last couple of hours. The storm's progression up the coastline has slowed by 6hrs overall, putting it off North Carolina at 3pm Saturday, compared to this morning's track that had it in the same position at 9am Saturday. The new track also moves it a little further inland by the time it hits the North-East. You can follow the bouncing hurricane at this excellent site.

I think the race will be fine. You may have a fun trip back to Cape Cod, though.

MMMM, Cape Cod... I lived on Nantucket island for two years. That area is one of the most beautiful corners of the Earth.

I've been keeping an eye on it all day. It will probably be a mud race but as far as the hurricane that will be Sunday and at this rate Monday.

Tnx for the input lads. How come you lived there, and why did you go back home? Totally one of the best looking places I have seen. Nantucket is a bit to snobby for my taste though...

ACK is one of the best places on earth. There is even a track on the Island, right by the airport. Good stuff!

I missed home and my family so much that I didn`t care to what kind of shithole I`m coming back to. + it never was a goal of mine to stay in USA, it was more like an adventure. Ha, I remember arriving in Boston airport with $137 in my pocket and this guy in customs was asking me if I had a $10000 in cash on me. I was laughing my ass of.

Flying into NYC Friday for the World Police and Fire Games MX at Long Island motocross. It looks like the eye of the storm goes right over the track.

I just spent 10 days on the cape Doc......love it there.
Hope to move to the wellfleet / truro area in the next year.
Remember.....they close the bridges once the winds hit 75mph so if your out there you have to ride out the storm.

Look where Massachusetts is is on a map. Its on the east coast right in the projected path of the hurricane.

edit: Just got your joke. I am a moron!

I hear you. I have been around in the US, even did a road trip 15 years ago on a Harley and saw all west coast, been to Cali 3 times, Las Vegas twice as well and I feel New England and Cape Cod in particular RULES!!!

Wellfleet and Truro is VERY nice, but during low season and winter they die. All people leave, stores are closed etc. I would suggest living in my neck of the wood: Falmouth or if you have the cash Woods Hole or North Falmouth. If you plan to commute to Boston on regular basis Bourne or Sandwich is better since being close to the bridge.

Damn, I had no idea about them closing the bridges during storms, but it makes sense. I guess I have to choose my companions wisely! Smile

I was waiting for someone to drop a Pee Pee town comment. For those of you who don't know about Provincetown, MA, it's the most surreal beach town on the east coast.... and the gay community has it on lock. No biggie though, my girl and I take day trip there.

Hey Dr, I do not blame you for comming back, I have lived one year in Copenhaguen, and while ther visited Stockholm, and at least for me Scandinavia is such a nice place to live (specially Cph and Stockholm), I'd like to get a job there now that I finished my studies and live there at least some years, but learnig danish was almost impossible in the short term, althoug I think because of the pronunciation, swedish might be easier...

Maybe Swedish is easier? I almost felt like danish people speaking sounded like drunk Swedes! Smile Yeah, it's not hard to sell Stockholm and going back isn't something negative despite I feel some very strong feelings favoring New England...

I lived on Mass's other cape for a year, in Rockport. For me, Cape Cod came nowhere near it in the beauty stakes.
