I saw big improvements. They tried unique camera angles and positions to better capture the speed and heights of the jumps. I think it worked. What, no bitching about the the flowers planted on the jump? The track looked great. You guys would bitch about winning the lottery.

I won the Fantasy 5 lottery, but two others had the same winning numbers. Sucks to have to share.

you guys think making a "suggestions for improvement" thread would be useful?

feedback might help them tweak the coverage and improve the product

given a lot of the tone around here i'm pretty sure it would end up clogged w/ people not making decent suggestions at all. ie "less commercials"- it is what it is, the major sponsor want in show commercials- it's a trade off you have to be willing to accept in a climate like this- be glad the series has major sponsors- who knows what would happen w/out them.

The lead in was great. The coverage was ok. The commercials excessive but paid the bills and then some.

The worst thing (as always) was the footage. Hills you can't walk up looked like 8ft slants filmed from above.
Why? Why? Why can't someone teach the film crews how to capture motocross? The casual fan knows more than these major network film crews? How is this possible and why would Mxsports allow it?

No way the sport is going to impress new viewers on major tv the way they film it. Looks like a 35 rider trail ride. Boring.

Get the camera guys on the ground. Get the cameras at ankle level for the hills and jumps. Burn the scissor lifts and zoom lenses. You think the casual viewer cares who wins? They want entertainment. Show the damn sport like it feels if you attend.

How hard is that? More importantly why does nobody care?
You ever heard of OSHA? The feds will never let the sport be covered the way it should be. The government will put a stop to anything that is fun or even the slightest bit dangerous. The feds are broke. They need money. They're going after television with everything they have, because until this year they were an untapped source of revenue. My suggestion to you is apply for a job with a television production company, bring your ingenious ideas that you think nobody has thought of, then sit there while OSHA writes up the fines for all your ideas, which you'll have to hire a lawyer for because you can't afford to pay for those great ideas that are too dangerous to do because somebody might get hurt or worse.

Also, saying "no way the sport is going to impress new viewers on major tv the way they FILM it" proves two things. 1) you haven't seen the ratings, and 2) you really have no clue about television or the money and resources it takes to put an event the size of outdoor motocross on television.

So, instead of watching television, why don't you go buy some dirt bikes and take a nice ride in the woods. That way you can support the sport, and we don't have to read your "know it all comments."

I'd like to see such a thread. I got frustrated with the amount of the commercials but viewed them as a necessary evil. Lol. Thing that pushed me over the edge was the traxxas break away in the last three laps. If they could avoid those types of things coverage would be improved. When it came on where it did, it felt to me like a situation of where they had contracted for the spot and were getting to the end of things and had to throw it in someplace.

When I think about it from traxxas view point, I don't think the ad got them what they wanted. I can't see the benefit of forcing an audience to watch a product promotion when the immediate response from the audience is "WTF are these guys doing now.". Not an emotional response to a product promotion that I would want.

yes, it is very worth it, much more people watch NBC than speed and fuel combined probably? I'm talking about people that arent fans of the sport yet.

I woner if Guyb would rather see his trackside banners on NBC or Fuel?

Well in order for it to be called coverage they would have to actually show it. They have screwed us in KC again. They clipped it and are showing a bunch of homos diving.

I am glad for mx-life.tv, no commercials during the racing.

Hopefully US SX/MX can do the same, thankfully on US nationals on motors tv don't show as many commercials as US tv, but cutting to off road racing and traxxis cars during the racing is very annoying.

Did they break to a Ben-Gay commercial in the middle of a dive. Laugh.

And to those that don't like critique of coverage, let me just say that there is nothing personal or mean spirited about the complaints. Personally, I like to know where I can improve and assume that NBC does also. Their goal is to attract an audience. I am sure NBC realizes that you can never please 100% all the time. So, here is feedback. Their choice on what to do with it.

Of course I will still watch it. I've just been getting spoiled by the coverage on fuel/speed Which has been excellent. iMHO

It was greatly improoved by not having the BMX Jamie guy there. He babbled on about things that don't matter worse than Seheen. They listened to something. They have to have the commercials to pay for the time, so I can live with that.

I'm sure this has already been mentioned, but is there a link on the net to watch the 2nd Moto for us poor
souls in the Northwest that got the shaft. NBC stands for No Broadcast Cause.

I have a dish and our NBC affilliate decided not to show it, do you have some other option that I don't
know about or are you referring to the showing this evening at 11pm our time?

You have a Valid question. I should say I have a cable company called Comcast, I dont what they provide in your area but we get almost everything here. They charge us for it as well! PS( Miami has a Fiber Optic main line)

Satellite is only allowed to provide the local networks in your broadcast area (with exceptions) so the advice for those that missed out to get cable or sat is not valid.
It sucks when they skip moto for 700 club or some other crap.
Sorry I don't know of any links maybe someone know of a torrent?
