Hahaha, kind of funny!

Matthes kind of backpedaling in fear that he looses some credibility in the industrie.
And the other guys involved just acting like little kids!

Thats all i have to say!

I completely agree with Matthes. He is absolutely right. I would go as far to say that Barcia doesn't have a chance to win this year. He could have said that and it would have been the truth. The PC guys have the dudes number this year. Don't sweat it Matthes and keep doing what you do.

Matthes is just being a drama queen. I'm not talking about the twitter war itself, that's whatever, but this whole blog about it narrating his thought process throughout, he's just trying to cause more drama, which seems to be his job in general.

i liked the article, and i like the fact Matthes talks about what he thinks, i wish there was more of it in the sport, we do not get alot of opinion pieces written.

When you have an 'insider' saying that you should boycott a reporter for stating an opinion in a tweet, its pretty bullshit imo

I thought that was a good article.....

If Barcia didn't want this to blow up than he shouldn't of made it so blatantly obvious with his tweets in the first place. I agree with everything Matthes says, and throwing stuff out there like that, is how he has gained such a huge fan base.

Think the problem lies here. Mathes is a thick skinned, grown man with life experience under his belt and a more grounded, rational perspective . . but he is working with these apparently very sensitive (& talented) home schooled kids with huge egos all surrounded by 'yes men' that cant see out of the moto bubble. Not to mention this ass licking manchild gear guy traipsing around with Barcia's shit all over his nose and a pair of day glo Fox pants.

The " i say who cares what this guy says just dont talk or do interviews with him. get more riders 2 to do same!" part did make me chuckle. . . and the irony is - I'd have no interest or give 2 shits about Will Hahn's results if it wasn't for Matthes's journo work.

scott nz, matthes is already boycotted. as is every "journos" in this industry. matthes tries his best with what he's given but its a upstream swim.

to say that the relationship between teams/racers and "journos" is contentious would be the understatement of the year.

the media in this sport is either too afraid to expose real shit or they are constantly behind on the stories because the industry shuts them out for the most part.

its kinda sad really. every other sport out there works with its media. this sport wishes the media would go away.

Exactly to everything here - well, I've never seen the day glo Fox pants - but everything else.

Also: let's see - is Barcia riding the 450? Guess Matthes was right about that one.

And Wil has 4 more races to prove him wrong on his second point. I think Beeks and Wil should apologize after that if they are wrong. Does Wil even stand on the box in the next four races? I don't think so. I like Wil but his speed just isn't there right now.

Is this moto or a soap opera? It's just an opinion, Matthes just playing the cards he is dealt. Barcia put it on twitter, did he think no one would mention it? Why is everyone so sensitive? Lets move on lads.

This topic will blow over in a week. It's just small misc bullshit between two parties that we'll all forget about right after the next race.

Maybe just maybe, Barcia was stoked twittered it and some of the higher-ups told him to stop, Twitter is the new "podium speech" that seems to get people in trouble ! You forget you're texting 1000's of people instead of just your buddy !

I think it's a gen Y thing too, these kids have had nothing but positive reinforcement their whole lives and the second they get any sort of negative feedback they can't handle it and get over sensitive about it..

tweet Reed or Windham can't win and they'll either laugh about it or prove you wrong or both

I guess my thread was pretty pointless after reading this again. You guys said it much better and created less "bad" reactions! Smile

Some of these guys need to man up and find their balls. So a journalist was being critical.........big deal. What would these guys do if they were being treated the way Espn has been treating Tim Tebow?

The day some people grow up is the day they realize the whole world doesn't love them............and they can actually deal with that.

You disagree with that Sherwood? Think the team were right to get a bit pissed and was quite a ballsy tweet, but behind closed doors I expect half the crew agree with this.

And like TeamGreen said, "let your results do the talking" . . lets see Hahn or Tomac grab a win and prove him wrong, throw a pie in Matthes face . .

guess we'll find out who wins this tweet war in few weeks eh! haha. My money is on Matthes. Place your bets! ha.

The only thing that gave this mickey mouse shit any legs is the fact its over a break.
Its the same old catch 22 in moto journalism.
The industry is so tiny and interwoven that breaking some real news will get you blackballed.
This entire thing is pathetic; at best.

@jemcee- Great post. Love the KW, 22 comment. Men amongst boys.

Is he trying to reach the Swap level of never saying any remotely critical of any rider or bike in existence?
