Im going to get my 2004 cr125 bored to 134cc and ported by Eric Gorr. Im just wondering if anyone has had anything done by him or Forward Motion and if it is worth the $500

It's not a bad thing to do. But wait until you need to replace the top end to minimize expenses. If the cylinder needs re-plating, it's not much more to bore it first.I'm considering having him bore my rm250 in a few months, because it's been 3 years of tough riding. The cylinder needs some work the next time. I have no experience with him, but after years of listening to people, I have never heard a bad thing.

Uh... not trying to be a dick, but going off of your previous thread of top end failure, my first money would be spent on a complete lower end rebuild. Crank, main bearings, and seals. Eric's stuff is good. Don't waste it by putting it on a questionable lower end.

Thanks, they do seem to have better prices

Eric's pricing includes his porting- that guy has forgotten more about 2 strokes than most of us will ever know.
Plus, Eric will re-assemble the powervalve, I think KK charges to do so.

I've had Eric do work for me in the past, he's well worth the low price of admission.

Eric is an awesome guy.. I was just at his shop on the weekend picking up a 295 kit for my YZ250.
I also run one of his 144 kits and couldn't be happier.

You won't be disappointed.

I had a 2002 CR125 years ago with the exact same mod by Gorr that you're considering. I paired the 134cc + port and polish with a vforce reed system, PC pipe w/ a shorty 304 silencer, and ran VP fuel. The bike ran much cleaner and snappier than the stocker. However, power-wise, don't expect to shoot the moon with this combo. It's not going to be a 250F killer by any means. You'll notice some bottom end to mid improvement while top end power stayed about the same and will still flatten around the same RPM level as the stocker. I was happy with all the work Gorr did with my parts, however it is a pretty large price tag and also don't forget to figure in new engine gaskets (and labor if you can't completely dissasemble the engine yourself.) My only major complaint was that after engine mods, I only seemed to average about 14 hours between top end rebuilds, so you are sacrificing some engine longevity in this aspect compared to stocker. I was always jetted slightly rich and ran Maxima Castor at 36:1

In retrospect, I think a pipe/silencer combo, Vforce reed system, and good race fuel will really wake up a 125 engine. You should consider giving something like this a try and see if your like the results before you start doing the engine mods.

He does great work, my buddy had a 295cc kit on his late model YZ and it was sweet. But, his customer service is HORRIBLE! Yes he is knowledgable and what not but shit, how hard is it to hire someone to answer a fucking phone?! My buddy had waited on his stuff for 2-3 weeks and couldnt get him to call him back, then bamm his card was charged and 3 days later his stuff was there.

My other buddy had his '01 CR125 made into a 137cc? What ever it was made that bike run great. Still wasnt as good a stock KTM but a shit ton better then stock. He also had the same customer relation issues.

Not bagging on Eric but I have had issues with incorrect work being done and then him telling me oh this will be better for your kid. His porting work is minimal, but I'm sure he knows the right areas.

I now have a guy who will take the time and explain everything very in depth. I now have a better understanding on how things should work and benefits me when tuning the kids bike.

His prices for the work he does are great, near twice as much port work and proper chamfering for ring longevity. Everything is computer design driven and he does a ton of 2 stroke (only) stuff a lot with racing sleds.

www.tdc2strokeperformance.com And tell him to kick his brother in-law in the ass and get his website finished up. LOL

Sent you a pm with Brents cell phone number. He'll explain what he does for the money and you'll find out how thorough this guy is for the work he does. He'll ask you questions that'll you'll never hear from other builders, been racing with my kid over 5 years and wish I would have found this guy a lot sooner.

I throw the "Bullshit Card" Eric Gorr did all our Super mini motors, mod 85's and our CR 144. 3 trips to Loretta's (a 5th and an 8th OA), a Branson National Championship, and 2 -3rds. We were NEVER out motored!

I purchased his supermini deal "filling out the order sheet". I got a standard bore cylinder with about 5 minutes work with a tootsie roll to shine it up. Called him back and he told me that's what my kid needed and I then asked if he looked at the order sheet and he didn't give me a straight answer. I asked that he call me before shipping and he never did.

I wish I still had it to show pictures of the port measurements.

Bullshit or not that's my experience.

That price was including assembly, bore and plating, piston, gasket's,powervalve fitment.
A full port job and a recut head set up for your fuel, all comp sim and tested.
Plus cases and cylinder resurfaced.
Everyone has a different way of doing things

Just with the bore ,plating, piston, you are already almost at 4 to 500.00 alone with shipping.
