I started riding when I was 19 yrs old. When I first felt the nerve stimulating speed in motocross, I then said to myself this is the sport for me. How about you?
Then one of these
Then started racing one of these
Then this got me really hooked
The Shop

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I rode that for about 2 years and went without a bike for a year while we were moving alot. Then I got one of these!! I'm not embarrassed to say I slept on my bike the first night I got it. That's when I really started racing at age 10.
When I look back on it, I realize how stupid I probably looked. I don't know how I carried the speed to clear that thing but I pulled it off. I just about broke the suspension everytime I jumped that jump lol.
Age 7 (I think): Kawasaki KX 60. I remember that bike being VERY powerful for me, or any 7 year old I would imagine. I loved it though.
Age 10: Yamaha TTR 125 (4 stroke). Obviously this was when my dad tried to get me into primarily trail riding. I love trail riding, but I gotta have a bike that you can go to the track and the trails without any trouble at either one.
Age 12: Suzuki RM250 (2 stroke). Awesome bike. Ran great. Never any trouble with it at all. The guy we bought it from was an older guy who babied it. It got stolen (shocker right?)
Age 16: Honda CR250R (2 stroke). I love this one too. Not as much as the RM I had though, but it's still a great bike. My cousin bought it brand new and hardly rode it. It was collecting dust in his garage, so I bought it from him after my RM was stolen. It's the bike I still have today at age 20.

Thanks Dad for letting me live my dream
Looking at each one of these bikes brings back such great memories...
Around that same time my dad had a 1972 Hodaka Wombat 125 and that seemed like a fire breathing race machine next to the CL90. My first real dirt bike was a 1985 XR80.
Pit Row
Once its in your blood, it will never leave. I do not want to imagine what my live would be like had my parents not introduced me to motocross.
