Forgie is such a small country I don't think they have many MX prospects. Wink The sport is still in the dark ages there.

I honestly believe this guy is the best talent we (Latvia) ever had. He`s still 14 years old, he has won every moto he entered this year except for 3 second places on a KTM 150 against 250Fand one second place on a 85cc. He`s 7/8 with one second place finish in ADAC MX Masters championship on a 85cc. We`ll see how he does in World championship next month, but I think there is nobody in Europe that can beat him on a 85cc. His program is rock solid and he sees his goals clear. I really think we have mega caliber rider growing up. His name is Pauls Jonas

Highly doubt it. I`m way too busy to take a week off, damn it! Kid that we support, Tomas Sileika, will be there and I hope latvians will kick some ass over there.

ahhh shame..... I'm still hoping to go.... had a really good time in 2008 watching Herlings vs Anstie and by the sounds of it, Team USA is taking it seriously this year so that'll add a little bit of spice. Always cool seeing these riders "before they are famous"

He`s riding circles around those guys. That`s why he`s in ADAC MX Masters. I don`t know about Jorge, he`s 15 but from what I hear pretty good, everybody else in top5 Jonas has covered. In ADAC MX Masters there are 80 guy`s on 85cc every round. 150 riders sent their applications to them(ADAC) and they turned down 70 riders. EU champs has 25-30 riders every round.

often ADAC and EMX85 European Championship are in the same weekend

from what we have seen this year, the 125 kid are not ready for mx2, zecchina was a suzuki substitute (roczens last year bike) and was way off pace, i think they are at schoolboy level....
but in the emx250 kids there are some very talented and with experience from riding their national series agains the top riders of their country, still not all the good and fast young talent is in this series, some just do their national series due to national sponsorsand teams that don't invest internationaly, so its possible to appear a few more good kids that don't race this series.
youth mx in europe is diferent than usa, in america if you look at a few major amature national you see them all, but in europe you have to look around a bit more through the nationals of each country, cuz the brand support is given through the importer of each country to represent the brand on their national market.......
for me the next big prospect is dylan ferrandis, he's been really hot since 85s and this year he showed heart in the french national, and that showed in emx250...he is still to wild and crashes a lot, just broke an arm, but if jacky vimond and the bud racing team do the work i think they are capable of, we will be seing this kid a lot in the near future......

Exactly, that`s why he choose ADAC. BTW Sileika is going to the next round of EMX85 in Poland so we`ll see what`s up.

i think Great Britain has had like 2 entries in those EMX series'.... so it's definitely the case of having to look at the National stuff to find the talent

I'm actually trying to find out if any of our riders will be at Cingoli.... but that isn't proving so easy lol

x2 I think Dylan Ferrandis will be a success. Maybe not Herlings/Roczen level but he has lots of potential.

when i was thinking of prospects i forgot that americans don't see much of european mx, so if even not being for me a prospect anymore, i think you should look up for jordi tixier from france, he races for the nestaan ktm team in mx2 owned by j martens, ancient 500 and big bore 4 stroke world champ, he is doing really well for a rookie in the first year on a 4 stroke.....
7/13/2011 11:14pm
I honestly thought Tixier would be getting a little bit better results in MX2 but I've been pretty impressed for his rookie season!

Elderfield is such a talented rider but he doesn't seem to have the motivation, its odd. He's already quit the sport once and came back a year later. Recently he split from a good uk kawasaki team and things weren't looking too promising, there were rumours of him quitting again, but he's back riding a 350ktm in the British Ntionals now so we'll see what happens.

Ben Watson.

Scott Elderfield imo is as good or better than Anstie talent wise, he seems to have problems with motivation though.

Dylan Ferrandis just broke his arm I believe.

As far as talented Brits I would Have to say the next 2 coming through are James Dunn who races the EMX 125cc Champs and Ben Watson on the 85cc.

Hopefully they will both make it to the World Champs in France, but our federation have never seemed to bothered by it, so who knows??

Spent a week with Ferrandis last year. He was on a Bud Racing 125 and Bud provided a rig for Team USA in France. Dylan is really fast!.

Ben Watson was 3rd at LLs a few years back on a 50 I let him ride. We have watched him ride every year for the last three or four and he is getting better by the day. He is a beast in the mud. He will probably race the World Junior Championships in Italy, he was in France last year and had one good moto and one where he either crashed out or had a mechanical issue.

Saw a kid named Boris Maillard last weekend in France. He is second in ADAC big bikes and had unreal speed.

Stick to ridiculing pro racers, you`re pretty good at that.
