I started riding when I was 19 yrs old. When I first felt the nerve stimulating speed in motocross, I then said to myself this is the sport for me. How about you?

Age 7 which was 48 years ago, never stopped and never will until I have to. Sad

First started riding at 4, though I didn't get my own bike until I was 7 on one of these:

I rode that for about 2 years and went without a bike for a year while we were moving alot. Then I got one of these!! I'm not embarrassed to say I slept on my bike the first night I got it. That's when I really started racing at age 10.

Started riding at age 14 on a XR80. My first race was at Budds Creek and in an effort to show my parents I could ride with the best of them I jumped the finish line tabletop everylap.

When I look back on it, I realize how stupid I probably looked. I don't know how I carried the speed to clear that thing but I pulled it off. I just about broke the suspension everytime I jumped that jump lol.

I started at 4 and rode untill I was about 19. My son started at 14 four years ago and is now a top local 450B rider.

Age 4: Suzuki 50. My dad claims I had to ride my bicycle down the stairs first before I got it. I don't remember it so I can't say for sure. I only remember the first ride on the 50 and everything after that.

Age 7 (I think): Kawasaki KX 60. I remember that bike being VERY powerful for me, or any 7 year old I would imagine. I loved it though.

Age 10: Yamaha TTR 125 (4 stroke). Obviously this was when my dad tried to get me into primarily trail riding. I love trail riding, but I gotta have a bike that you can go to the track and the trails without any trouble at either one.

Age 12: Suzuki RM250 (2 stroke). Awesome bike. Ran great. Never any trouble with it at all. The guy we bought it from was an older guy who babied it. It got stolen (shocker right?)

Age 16: Honda CR250R (2 stroke). I love this one too. Not as much as the RM I had though, but it's still a great bike. My cousin bought it brand new and hardly rode it. It was collecting dust in his garage, so I bought it from him after my RM was stolen. It's the bike I still have today at age 20.

My dad raced mx growing up so I rode his old bikes from the time I could ride a bike, I guess 4 or 5. I didnt get a modern mx bike and start racing til I was 11. Got an 87 YZ80 then.

Started riding around 1983-84 on a 1982 XR80 around the age of 7. Started racing in '87 on a YZ80. Raced until the mid 1990's on 125's & 250's. Realized I would be better off by going to college. Since 1984 I've ALWAYS had a dirt bike.

Rode my first bike in 1986, it was a 1982 RM80, but still rode a few KX60s afterward(little wheelie machine, a lot of them had broken rear fenders). I wasn't a big kid like kids today! Smile Oh yeah I was 12 years old, rode until I was 17 years old, went to college. Joined the military started riding again at 27, not the same drive as when I was a teen(responsibilities). Brands I have ridden since then: Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha and still ride Yamaha.

I started riding somewhere around 1983 when I was 9-10 years old. We had an old 1969 Honda CL90 that my brother and I would ride all over in the woods by our neighborhood every day after school. The bike had bald street tires and the splines were shot on the kickstarter and shift shaft so we kept losing both of them. Eventually it got to the point where we could not backtrack to find where they fell off and ended up having to push start the bike and ride in second gear all the time. After probably a year of doing that we sold to my brothers friend for $50.

Around that same time my dad had a 1972 Hodaka Wombat 125 and that seemed like a fire breathing race machine next to the CL90. My first real dirt bike was a 1985 XR80.

Wanting to, 1969. On a friend's bike, 1971. Saved my paper route money and bought a basket case Bultaco Pursang in 1972-73 or so at 15, split the cases and my buddy rebuilt the crank in metal shop, put it together three times before it shifted and then started riding my own bike. My parents told me I was on my own on this one; didn't forbid it, but didn't support it or pay for it beyond helping me pay for a barrel when it turned out the basket wasn't quite full of everything. Bought a used Maico and started racing a year or so later.

Probably about 7 or 8. First bike was a xr75, then a xr100 doing hare scrambles, then once I got my kx85 I started racing mx. Been hooked ever since.. I've played alottt of sports in my life, other extreme sports some normal but this is by far the hardest, most physically demanding, and the funnest I've ever done.

First time I rode my dads old XR75 was right after my dad and gpa spent a month fixing it up. I ran into a shed in the back yard so they took me to a field down the road. I ran that thing wide open in first gear probably a half a mile before they stopped me lol. They didnt tell me I had to shift.

You'd think that but everyone is different. My worst injury was a torn acl/mcl last year. I've had friends riding just as long as me. Some have had no major injures besides a broken bone here or there. And others who have broke the back and lost a kidney

Age 5 on a PW50. Started racing locally and within two years was traveling to every big race we could find....Ponca, Lake Whitney(sad to see it go), Mosier Valley GNC (funest track I ever road), Branson. Best memories of my life are traveling across the states with my family. Major props go out to all parents for letting their kids participate in such an amazing sport.

Once its in your blood, it will never leave. I do not want to imagine what my live would be like had my parents not introduced me to motocross.

77 on a TY 80 - my Dad thought riding trials to start with was a good idea and I did always kill it in the mud but I wanted an RM 80 sooooo bad .
