But can he win a GP?

I wrote some thoughts on CP as this weekend in Germany will be his MX1 debut. Also check out the video of CP testing in Holland... CP on a green bike, in Thor gear, just looks right.

He couldn't do more than 4 laps stints in Holland, so no he can't win... yet!

He'll probably do about the same in Europe as he did in those 2 races of the AMA series.

x2 at least at the first few GP's - however if he sticks with it and continues improving by the end of the year he might be in contention for an overall podium

Hard to tell from the video. His style is so smooth he looks slow without other riders for perspective. As long as he is happy in life is all that matters. The MX1 class is really heating up right now. Bad time to start racing that class. Best of luck to CP.

I think he'll do better - after all he has another motivating factor now in trying to make his old team look bad.

It has a pretty short recovery time, apparently.

Testing in Holland? Thought he would require the team to come to Florida.

He was a top 5 or 6 guy in the nationals, he should win real easy racing the GP's.

He is back in Europe, where he grew up, where the food is good and healthy, where the people are real and where he finds himself riding for a top notch team... he will be fine and winning races in a short time!

I would dearly like to bite at some of the above comments but what is the point really? He had a shit period this year and for whatever reason he didn't make it work, however, the other seasons in the US have been staggering and that cannot ever be taken away and especially not by snide interwebbers who probably liked him when he was doing well in the AMA but then turned because they didn't get what they wanted.

personally I am glad to see him back in MX1, I hope he does what we know he can, MXDN is approaching, that's all i'm gonna say.

ps - its the World Championship, not Europe !

It was and still will be awesome to see him ride and race. He just needs to be fit and on a bike/team on which he really feels at home. I cant wait to see him race again!

I love how much he is standing up through the corners. So smooth, so deceptively fast. Everts made James look silly one day riding like that. lol

They better get some results or Kawi might pull the plug.

I doubt he would ride as a privateer again.

That's true... he is riding for his career right now... at least to restore people's faith in his ability so he can get a factory ride.

He has to perform... and he has too much talent and need not to in my opinion.

I'm glad that he is happy, and hope the best for him. He made some disastrous decisions over the last few months, and had a critical injury to overcome. He'll do well anywhere he is happy.

What kind of helmet and exhaust contracts does he have? If he was a pro circuit dude, why not a PC pipe? Tcx boots?

Can't wait till he starts winning over there while he couldn't even compete over here. It'll show how weak the GPs really are.

You seem to have forgotten the last 2/3 years C.Pourcel had been racing in the AMA and winning.

I'm sure it will be interesting if he turns up at the MXDN on a track in his home country. I can't wait..........

Throw your bait somewhere else.
