Pretty excited that I get to teach the little guy to ride. He was elated!

I am glad I made him spend so much time on his bicycle before getting him this PW. And I am also glad I didn't get a bike that was taller. This is probably only going to work for this summer but hopefully he can gain a ton of confidence and prepare him for the next step. As you can see, he already kinda gets it. Quality sucks, I know but it was a camera phone. lol

haha, that must be so cool watching your little lad ride a motorbike for the first time (and equally anxious for his mum I expect!).

Have you got the 120ft rig, snap on tool chest, sponsors and a home school programme sorted out yet? Grinning

Cool.!

If they can ride their bicycle confidently without training-wheels, they can ride a dirt bike.

Welcome to the Mini World Pops!

That's awesome buddy; little fella definitely looks like he's got a knack for it. I can't wait til I'm able to work with my little guy....maybe he can teach me a thing or two Smile

Oh man, I remember my first "ride around the street in circles" learning season an my brand new 1991 KX60! Smile

I also remember my mom taking my bike and trying it out. She accidentally popped a huge wheelie and played it off as if she had done it on purpose. For years I bragged to my friends about how awesome my mom was because she could do wheelies on my 60, hahaha!

Just remember to keep it fun and enjoy it man, what an awesome opportunity.

I still remember the first time i rode a crf 50, my dad brought home a brand new 02 cr250 for himself, and a crf 50 for me. best times i ever spent with my dad were riding motocross, too bad he's old and boring now and won't ever go out with me!

he is 5. well, 5 and a half. He started riding a pedal bike at 3 and I kept coming up with excuses why he shouldn't have a motorcycle but if he is going to be part of the family he must be able to ride. lol

I'll never get over how dark and hard packed the dirt is in Las Vegas.

LMAO. I hate mid summer blue groove. My elbows are literally a different color from all the scabbing and scars and I grew up in Utah. Oh, he is going to be using elbow guards.

My nephew could not ride a bicycle when he was 4, but he could ride an electric quad just fine. It took me 3 times out to the track and he got it. It took him a little longer to ride the bike but for him the pw50 worked a lot better. I was always afraid to teach him out in the street like that. Always afraid he would hit a car though he never had any issues running into things. My nephews younger brother had no problems finding a car when I took him out to the dirt track. Both were ok but kids learn differently and at different times.

Awesome! I made the mistake of getting my kid his 50 when he was just 3 and still on training wheels. Those damn training wheels are dangerous and hard to ride. When he was 4 we took them off and life got way better. Now he's 5 and a half like your son and rides great. I'm able to take him through some pretty rough trails. You will be amazed how fast these little guys pick it up. I am constantly amazed what he learns. His little brother is 3, so I'm going to be starting all over again soon.

Very cool

He will be ready for another bike in 2 weeks, already has great balance and isn't afraid of it at all.

This is the beginning of a great thing, lucero.

My son got his first motorcycle at seven years old.

For the first few years, we only went to tracks.

I'd give him pointers and let him rip for an hour, then sit him in the bleachers and make him watch me ride for half an hour.

We'd trade off like that all day.

Some of our best early bonding experiences were on the way to the track, and at the track (he always fell asleep on the way home).

Eventually, he got good enough and got on a big enough bike to join me on desert trips and trail ride weekends, as well as track days.

My son is seventeen now, and because we ride together, we have a better relationship than any other fathers I know have with their teenaged sons.

At home we're father and son, but when we load the bikes and leave the womenfolk behind, we're just a couple of buddies out for some fun.

You've got many years of fond memories to collect, starting right now.

Enjoy!

Best thread in a looong time! Really made me smile and think about all the awesome times with my dad (and my little moto mom, she was care) growing up. Best times of my life, bar none!

I vote for HOF so we can revisit it in like 5 years and see how Jr. is doing. Cool

You just started an addiction that will last the rest of his life.

I was chuckling at the fact that he was putting his leg out when he was turning like that, good form!

That is soooo awesome Lucero. My 4 yr old daughter was given the drop the training wheels and get a PW promise and two days later training wheels were gone and she's cruising. Lokking for the PW now..
