First, let me be clear - this thread is in NO WAY intended to discredit any rider or take away any accomplishment. Any Pro rider has done more than the majority of us ever have dreamed of. So don't blaze me for starting it.

Who, in your opinions, has been the least successful Pro Circut rider in the last 10 years or so? I have lost track of who all their riders were, as I only really started paying attention to the team in 07 when they had Townley and our country boy Darcy Lange as riders.

I know a lot of their riders go on to win Mitch a # 1 plate, but obviously not all have. Comments?

As a PS to this, ( for all you "pro bench racers" ) has a PC rider ever went a full series without winning a single race or moto?

Eric Sorby, Matt Walker, Paul Carpenter, Troy Adams, Chris Gosselar. These are all great riders they just never made it up to championship level contender. With 4 guys on the squad every year only one or two will have a chance at grabbing those #1 plates.

Troy Adams? Chris Gosselar? Maybe someone off the Peak teams from the early 90s?

If they rode for PC ,they were undeniably fast.Usually it would be an injury that held them back.

Am I right in thinking that Casey Johnson rode for PC but never really hit his stride until YOT?

I know he's my buddy, and sorry, but Billy Payne. or Bobby Bonds. Both couldn't keep it on 2 wheels.

For sure! I found that link a long time ago...I swear I looked at that page for hours and went through all the different races and series in my mind....PC has dominated over the years! Jimmy Gaddis used to be one of my favorite riders as a kid....he had these awesome R & D Suzuki 80's! Him and Buddy used to race for R & D Suzuki...anyone remember those bikes?

For every successful PC rider there are ten failures. PC doesn't magically turn guys into champions, they give champions the tools to do it. Broc Tickle was a champion on a junk bike, PC gave him the tools to be the champ.

As far as the second question, has any PC rider gone a season without a wain? More of them have never won then have won.

Bonds was riding GREAT, untill Langston pulled that shitty ass brake check on him on the downside of that high speed jump (I think at Hangtown). Messed him up pretty bad.

Was Eli and Tomac both your friends before you realised it was just one person?

From the PC team history link,it doesn't look like these guys won a race on a PC bike, not for certain though I could be wrong.....not sure about motos....

the guys on this list are still badass and have been successful and won on other teams!

When I first started this thread, it was Metty that I was thinking about foremost. I knew he wasn't a champ, but I wasn't sure about moto or SX wins. He is still one of my favorite.

Thanks to Sully's link ( which I've been pouring over Smile ) I have learned a lot. Wow - LOTS of PC guy's never saw the top step!

See - ask, and learn! Vital is good for something! ( kidding, mods, don't click me.....)

Austin Stroupe was a disappointment, has never taken much flack for his off the track antics like J-Law or now JS7, even with his stint or stints in rehab

Put JB, Durham, Bagget, #15 and the rest of the PC guys on Hondas and it'd be a HONDA domination, put them all on Yamaha and it'd be all YAMAHA on the podium, put them all on Zuki and ZUKI would fill the podium!!!

I don't think it's that simple.

And I think it is more than just the bike.

Best answer so far. Dont forget Bones was one of the fastest Husky 125 rider in the world in '82-'83, because he was one of the ONLY Husky 125 riders then. LOL

The first time I ever saw an R&D RM80 was at Ponca City under George Holland... I went home and they started appearing 1st Barry and Clay Branch, then Brandon Ready had one... Hand made aluminum fuel tanks and Curnutt shocks are the visuals that I remember... I do remember that they were super fast... I thought my YZ 80 was fast until I got smoked in a drag race by one of those 6 speed R&D rockets... But, yeah, I remember them... What a memory...
