I've lived in the NW and SW, the NW just pisses me off when it comes to riding. You get a decent summer, but then sit on your hands for 9 months. All these people have good things to say about it, don't know why, just trying to make themselves feel better. I live in central oregon now, over on I-5 corridor before, sucks for moto, period. How many people do you know who moved NW for the moto? None. They all get the hell out of here, can't wait myself. Other than moto it is a fine place to live, if you like to never see the sun and be wet 9 months of the year, or like to freeze your ass off for that long, your choice on which side of the cascades you live. Now snow-machine, advantage-NW.

Yep, there are a bunch of fast ex-Oregonians, like the Bisceglia's and Frace's, that have moved here in the last couple of years for the year round moto.

Out of the 25+ years I lived up there ,we always rode year round.
Sand spots along the Columbia river if we didn't feel like traveling far ,and the Oregon Coast when we wanted to make a weekend out of it,during the wetter months.Would ride the mud once or twice a week and race CC indoor every other week and then Salem AX on the other weekends and also Woodland on Saturdays.
I've got some great memories of even riding the old Rainer beach spot in close to a foot of snow during the winter months Jan&Feb ,the sand up there was always great with a little bit of snow on it.
I'll take the NW riding over riding in 98% humidity with a 90 to 100degree + heat index 6-7 months out of the year like we get down here. Smile

To each is own ,I guess.

Oh, I do, believe me. TNMX at PIR is never any fun, and that Washougal place is not even real motocross, stupid uphills and downhills, off-camber turns. Ugly setting, too. Stay away.

Had some epic days at Rainer beach- Most weekends in the winter it was like being at a regular race. Always loved challenging my buddies to see who could jump up out of the sand hole dig out walls -That was so much fun!

I live in the northwest and see over 300 days of sunshine a year. Hardly ever rains.

Wow, the Beaverton/Portland area is a little drier than I thought it would be. About 2/3 the annual rainfall of Houston. Still about 4 times what we get, but I figured that.

When I lived in the Seattle area, I had trouble with the cloudiness the first winter, but after that I knew what to expect and made some decent adjustments.

Whats this snow stuff you speak of?

Wife was already scheduled to come out next week to set up the test computers they moved when they closed down the State College PA facility. She will meet with HR while there so at this point the ball is in ARRIS's court.
