I'd have taken my helmet off at least !
I know I felt bad for him. I can see where he might not win some fans over, but I cannot see any reason to hate on the kid. He doesn't seem to be cocky or arrogant. He is a hell of a rider, great riding style. Remember, these guys are young, it takes a while to learn the PR skills. It took RC a while to win the fans over.

Class. Respect.
But I also think the pushing for points angle some are pushing is out to lunch...
Pit Row
Ryan was done for the moto, and he knew it. He wasn't near the track while pushing his bike back to the Suzuki pits.
He was headed back to the transport-not the finish line. I get what your trying to say, but it's "n/a" in this situation.
Again...how many times have you seen "other riders" push there bikes all the way back to the transport??
That's Ryan Dungey for you. All I gotta say is...Suzuki better get a line of credit or something to resign Ryan, cause he's going to be a hot commodity when his contract is up. He's a corporate dream from the marketing perspective/return on investment.

"And then there was Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey. With the win in hand at the rutted-up Freestone National track in Wortham, Texas, the defending Lucas Oil AMA Pro 450 Motocross Champion saw his fuel overheat and boil enough to stop his motorcycle within a lap and a half of the second-moto win. It was painful to watch on Speed as Dungey kicked and kicked at the bike, then pushed it home—his frustrated mechanic Mike Gosselaar hesitant to help push because he wasn't sure if that would mean a compete DQ for outside assistance. (It wasn't until the AMA confirmed that he was outside the top twenty, and thus the points, that Goose was told to go ahead and help, which he did.)"

"Coincidentally, after Dungey's Suzuki teammate Brett Metcalfe reached the podium in the second moto after holding off a fierce attack from Valli Motorsports Yamaha rider Ricky Dietrich, his bike was sent to the impound area next to the AMA semi, but while it was being ridden from the podium to impound, it ran out of gas after going just a couple hundred feet! Was it a Suzuki problem? Was it a heat problem? Was it just a fuel-robbing track?"
And this outside assistance thing is BS too, the riders cant have help starting it. the mechanics can touch the bike, like when there is a pileup in the first turn and spotters run out to pick up the bikes.
Dungey looked pissed and who in their right mind wouldn't be? He probably told goose to go kick rocks and not touch the bike. My Dad and I watched the race and drew this conclusion. look at the body language between RD and goose. He lost the SX title to a broken chain and now possibly a moto championship to a mechanical. If you're in Dungey's position, you have to ask how did RC get so "lucky" with his perfect seasons and now Dungey has two mishaps in the same year. Of course its racing and we all know things happen, but my opinion is that RD told goose where to stick it and pushed the bike himself out of pure frustration, and to make goose feel even worse.
dungey not the only one
