HO-LEE-COW!!! WE DID IT!!! We raised 100% of our goal ($5,000) for the Limbs For Life Foundation over the past two weeks! Thank you to Chris Ridgway for his amazing story of determination, to everyone who chipped in to the fundraiser, and to LFL for providing limbs to folks who cannot afford them. High five to awesomeness!!!

So Chris got $200 of that for expenses, and the other $4800 went to the foundation?? Is that correct?

The way I understand the breakdown is:

Chris Ridgway - $200.00 (travel expense)

LFL - $4,601.00 (artifical limbs for patients)

Drmarkr - $199.00 (lifetime supply of douche bags)

My emotions have rarely (if ever) been provoked in this forum, but this thread is a huge exception. For those of you questioning the integrity of Chris and his intentions for the money raised on his and Nicole's behalf, you are truly scum. In fact, every expletive that has ever been uttered by BobbyM on this board doesn't even begin to describe you. Most of you have no idea what it means to go through what Chris has gone through. In fact, as someone who knows Chris fairly well, I can tell you that many of you will never know the pain that Chris has endured (the leg isn't even the half of it). The guy lives to race, and has more passion for motocross in his pinky than 90% of the people on this board--no question. This guy has more will to win than most racers I know, and yet, has an uncanny level of respect and gratitude to his competitors as well. He has the highest appreciation for his sponsors and supporters, and only hopes to advocate and repay them in any way possible--case in point, this fundraiser for Limbs for Life. As a benefactor of the program and the prosthetic care they provide, he has lent his name as a means of giving back to the same organization that helped him in his time of need.

I hope that those of you here who have argued against Chris and his motives, take a real hard look at what you're saying... because you clearly have no idea the amount of damage you've inflicted not only on Chris, but on all of the amputees and paraplegics who compete in the Extremity Games as well. I knew that there were some strange and skewed opinions on here, but some of you are unbelievably cold, and represent a level of stupidity and spite I never could have imagined possible.

I won't disagree with most of what you wrote but some of the questions asked were very valid and deserved an answer.

i don't think anybody really was/were prepared for the questions that some people wanted answered and that is understandable but i also don't think chris or nicole deserved some of the horseshit thrown their way...i mean what the FUCK?!?

With the help of some of you guys, my friends and I raised almost $18k for Limbs For Life in 2011! Lots of good people on here helped out lots of amputees.

Damn, I forgot about this thread. GuyB could've used this as a perfect example for his recent "housecleaning" extravaganza. Right on Ridge for doing what you do. Who knows, I may be one of those amputees if I decide to go with cutting the ankle and foot of instead of the fusing.Wink
