If America do send the Dream Team of Stewart, Villopoto and Dungey, and Dungey or Villopoto ride the MX2 class, does Roczen beat them?

That will be the highlight of the weekend I think. I go with Roczen on a KTM, he will smoke them off the start.

Oh gotcha. He would def smoke Dungey on the start thats for sure. He prob outweighs Ken by 30lbs. I wouldnt pick against Roczen especially going against 450 riders who were moving down to 250's.

It would make a statement if Roczen could holeshot and win both motos like RV did at the MXON in 07

RV vs roczen on a 250f.... my money is on RV no question. Don't think RV would go back down to a 250f though.

Reasonable people can disagree on this, but Stewart is not on my dream team. It's not the SX des Nations, and Stewart learned last year that RDC isn't interested in part time MXers.

I don't want to hijack the thread, though - if RV or RD drop down to the 250 class, does Roczen beat them?

I'd say he probably does, although when I think RV + MX2 +MXoN I think Budds Creek, then thinking of someone beating him on a 250 is pretty hard to imagine.

But it's a team race and Germany doesn't have a 3rd rider, so I could see the US 250 rider not worrying about chasing down or holding off Roczen. The only downside to letting him run away would be listening to you all year...;-)

I think Roczen would beat Dungey on a 250, it would be close though.

Villopoto, I doubt Roczen would beat him, when he was in his prime, now, it would probably be a close race, but I think Roczen would take it.

"Dream Team"????? WTF???

Stewart won't be picked. He couldn't set his bike up properly for the one race he tried last year, remember? Besides, Malcom (the only Stewart racing outdoors this year) isn't anywhere near ready for MXdN

Why would we have our MX1 and MX3 guys drop down to a 250? Especially when A) We don't know how our National series is going to shake out (Barcia, Tomac, Baggett, etc) and Cool We have a perfectly good Yank over in England right now who's pretty good on a 250, and who's team already has a bike in Europe that's already tested to FIM specs.

But really, how much different would it be than sending Short, Tedesco or Ferry in years past, only that Stewie is much faster than all of them even on a bad day (if he doesn't crash. To say Stewart is not one of our fastest riders I think is unreasonable. It is reasonable to say he crashes a lot and could jebrodize a championship if he did, but I think he understands that and would ride for the team and not himself, though I could be wrong.

I agree, which is why even a win from Roczen doesn't prove much. But it doesn't need to, we know Roczen is fast. I guess we wait till next year for him to come to America but then he will be racing against our latest crop of newbies because some of the fast guys will move up to 450s.

Here's another scenario: Canard will (supposedly) be ready by then, and will have raced several nationals. I'm not so sure TC wouldn't be the better canditate. BTW, my MXoN "dream" team is RV, RD and TC.

WTF does your last sentence mean? Are you suggesting Roczen is sandbagging?

1. Stewart will not be on Team U.S.A. if the past is a reliable predictor.

2. Team U.S.A. will probably be Villopoto, Dungey, and Baggett or Tomac based on events so far. Strong, strong team.

3. Roczen will be fast, and the 250f is not necessarily a disadvantage against 450s. Villopoto beat them all at Budd's Creek in 2007.

4. We already saw Roczen VS Dungey in Colorado last year. Dungey by a mile. Same thing in France this year...who knows? Is Roczen faster this year than last? Is Dungey?

He even admits it... My opinion?... They will take any win and call it "beating the U.S... What a joke... I don't believe that our best has been beat, since 1983,
over there or over here... JS coasted to an overall behind the Euro God, S.E. who was riding his heart out...
Thats how I saw it, among others... I wasn't by myself... America still WON... imagine that... Beat America for the overall or... Shut it... Quit stirring the same old, wore out, crap... Win convincingly and still shut it... or... Lower yourselves and argue and gloat, thats how I see any euro after putting up with your bias and many times, contrary to reality opinions... This must be the time for the euros to show up and create their fantasy... I was starting to like Roczen... Until they reminded me who he represents...

Baggett on the 250. RV and Dungey on the big bikes. Roczen should just worry about beating Baggett when it comes time.
