I'm still not a big fan of Reed's but I have to say, he has super exceeded my expectations this year. I guess this is the only time ever that I have something in common with MC!

Chad Reed has been growing fans for years now with his new attitude and participation in outdoor motocross; Hangtown just brought a lot of them out of the closet.

Watching his second moto and podium speech sure put a big ass grin on my face.

I agree... I think a lot of bubba fans are jumping ship, and moving to Teem 22....

Always was Always will be

AS stated before Mouthy Foreign Champions are not all that welcome in the US.

Australia has always been a great breeding
ground for motorcycle champions
be it road or track.

And long may it continue as I love the reflected glory, :D

Always have been a CR fan. Really, how could you not be? He's the only one that wasn't afraid to run with Stewart. I remember thinking when Bubba pulled over and waited for Reed on the 125's that someday this was going to come back and bite him in the ass. Looks like the tide has turned and the time has come. Good for Chad. Holly shit, he even bet a million of his dollars on himself.

What happened is he took out an insurance policy on himself, year before last year, that if he won he was to receive 2M, if he got 2nd exactly zero.

You know, its only the first race. I'm glad Reed won, but it's a long season.

I'm a fan of Reed.....but I'm also a fan of every one of those 39 guys that lined up next to him. I would of been just as happy if RD , RV , CP , Metcalf or anyone else won. I just want to see some great racing. I'm a little partial to RV because he's our local guy........but it doesn't bother me when someone else wins. Fan of the sport in a whole........not just one rider.

No, his horse was only contracted to race the Gladiator series...and is resting now...and it'd cost too much money to get it out of the stable, and race a race that is 20 miles away.

Reed starting his own team on his own buck, and showing alot of heart, and desire to win regardless of MONEY, makes huge strides in fan appreciation, i think he's a fucking hero! for stepping up and doing what every loyal MXer should do!

Actually the way it works is the INS. Policy (Loydes Of London) is an upfront investment of about $150K and it would payout around $1.5M if he were to win a championship. This is the same thing he did in 2009 when he won with SUZ.
