Please enlighten us which riders "raised the level" of the sport in the U.S.

Check your history mate. How far back do you wanna go, we can look at Pourcel, bit further back, Reed, bit further again, Albee, Further Bayle. Or you wanna go right back, there was a bloke by the name of Decoster, him and his mates pretty much introduced the sport to the states, they didnt introduce it, but they did show your predecessors how to do it properly.

Is that enough examples for you??
You need to lay off the crack "mate". In your view every rider that has come to the U.S. has helped "raise" the level of the sport here. It couldn't possibly be that they came here "raise" their own level of racing could it? Ever heard of supercross? Loretta Lynn's? From 1981 to 1994 during their first streak of 13 years, it was the AMERICAN AMA riders that showed the rest of the world how to "do it properly." What an embarrassing thing for you to say.and way to think. Just smacks of your own brand of outback "redneck" and denial of reality-or is it your position that people outside of the U.S. are incapable of such behavior?

A huge James Stewart fan I'm not, but here's a little reality check for you on speed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o0aHp6HezQ

Or, if you like I could show you about a thousand videos of Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart about half a lap ahead of Reed in National motos-and I'm a HUGE Chad Reed fan.

The G.P. riders are awesome riders and I loved watching them yesterday and listening to Malin and Bailey during the races. I appreciate every G.P. rider who has come over here to try their hand at the U.S. style of racing and the super-intense game of supercross.

Too bad you don't appreciate the reality of all that the U.S. and it's riders have contributed to the sport since they took the handoff from G.P. riders and took it to another level 30 years ago in the early 1980s. "Mate."

Sorry, the US Nationals are a National series to decide a National champion. ie: back yard series to find out whos the best in your neighbourhood. The Jp OEM's sell more bikes in the US so naturally they set up shop there, doesnt mean jack shit what you made from moto, just ask Joel Robert.

When the US big tools accept the world series and embrace it then we'll have a more potent GP series....but you know, the Euro's brought you MX and now you dont want to share it. Typical of how the USA has done things basically for the last 100yrs.
Share it?

Share what?

Why should we have to share something that we have become successful at? Is it our fault that the U.S. nationals is more successful than the GP series?

Quit complaining, and take your own advice, embrace what the world has to offer, that includes the USA. Moron.

It's also inevitable that every single world champion strives to come over here and race....to "Really' prove themselves. And don't think I'm knocking on the GP guys.......They are awesome friggin' riders. I just think our USA nationals has a deeper field and slightly faster riders.

It's the same old argument every single time. The guys who support the GP's , think their riders are better. The guys who support the USA nationals "Know" our riders are better........which brings me to my point of " Who keeps winning the MXoN's race?"

Kong , I'm sure you'll chime in with your immense knowledge here.
Newsflash! The guy who started the thread saying Roczen (GP rider) would kill it in our outdoor series... is from America.
Newsflash! That's one American saying that. Wasnt he supposed to win the SX title this year too? Oh, thats right, it didnt happen.

As we keep saying, who keeps winning the MxON? Who has the most wins overall in the MxON? That's what i thought. And dont bring up the stupid "USA has a bigger pool of riders to choose from" arguement either. We win, because we have better riders, its that simple.

When did the US ever beat EUROPE in the MXDN?? You're immensely retarded. Yes you have good riders, yes its a good series, yes you've won the MXDN alot, nobody's arguing that. But give some credit where credits due. Your series is so good because of the array of overseas talent that comes over, not despite it.

By the way, just because you call you national baseball champs the world champs doesnt make it so either.

Pull your head in
When did he say the US beat Europe? Quit with this "if Europe was a team, they would in the MxON." The bottom line is, Europe is NOT a country, so quit your bitching. The US continues to beat EVERY single European country year after year, and that's without even using our fastest 450 riders.

What does baseball have anything to do with this? Where did anyone in this thread bring up baseball for you to argue that?

Pull YOUR head in.

Yes they all helped inprove the sport, but it still would have been just as good without them.

Stewart
Canard
Dungey
Villopoto
Tomac
Barcia
Paluzzi
Anderson
Hansen
Tickle
Weimer
Bagget

the list goes on and on, and thats just the modern era.

Why should I respect you Kong? You basically called me a racist the other day. In a thread where some people were criticizing the way Stewart had been riding lately ( Me being one of them ) , you came in with this great comment " Nah... I don`t think there is that certain point anymore. I`m starting to believe it is because he`s black. "

So please tell me.....why the fuck I would care what you have to say?

Back on Topic.....Momma canard was right.....both series are awesome. But you fail to read her point when she said " Just because one series is called a World title , doesn't mean it's better then the other series" , or something to that affect.

I have no probelm saying both series are equal , but when someone spouts off that the "World" title is more prestigious , I'll stick up for my National series , plain and simple. As far as that goes , I think most people would.....they just get tired of having to say it.

If Roczen has a full racing career without a catastrophic injury, he will end up in the Pantheon of MX/SX Gods, probably the top 5 ever, maybe even, with a bit of luck, the best there was or will be. He's got loads of talent, is adaptable, and best of all, has a superheated and insatiable desire to win . . . Colour me a Fanboy!! My Two Cents™ . . .

If you look at track conditions it looks like he won 2 races. A mud race and a regular GH race. Pretty good indicator of the boys skills.

Shitty attitude?.....Not at all. I just don't like people who accuse me of things when they nothing about me. I've actually been on ALL these boards for a very long time. In fact I remember when you first joined up I think on mototalk years ago , and you were huge supporter of James in almost every single thread you were involved in. So i see you still attack people that have a different opinion than yourself?

And respect to the GP riders.......where in the hell did you see me bash on ANY GP rider? I'll give you a hint....I haven't. Either GP rider or a USA national rider.......I love both series.

You`re wrong on this one. I discovered Vital MX back in 2008 and started commenting in 2009. Actually I started commenting at all only in 2008 on a little latvian MX site.

i think the time should come when the powers at be get together and rename the world champs the european championship, then cut both the championships to 8 rounds with the top 20 from each championship qualifiying for a 10 round WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP that i would pay to see 5 rounds on US soil and the other 5 in europe then there would be no arguments.
It does make me smile when we have to read so and so is better than so and so and here is the proof and a link to a you tube clip.i remember in RC's early years him being lapped on 2 different occassions by Everts but i also remember being at ernee in 05 watching RC and thinking wow.Watching Everts in his last ride go round stewart on the pegs brilliant but could he do it every time No on the same day RV wasn't that brilliant yet at buds creek different story. If the US riders were that great no one would ever take a US title unless they were american. My idea of the way the championships should go would give us what all mx fans really want a field of the best riders in the world going at it,

There may have been the odd American fan boy who felt he could walk on water after the MXdN and claimed he would win the SX championship this year, but MOST people were realistic. ie; do well to finish top 5, push for podiums and maybe contend for the odd race win.

I promise you.

Roczen is the MAN! I hope we can steal him away from the GP's next year... He would add a ton to the series on and off the track. Cool kid that is super fast, humble and funny. Do I think he would be a shoe in for the title? Nope, but I sure wouldn't bet against him.

I wish RacerX would come out with power rankings like they used to... That was always good for a debate. I bet Roczen would find himself in the top ten in the world, 250 or 450.

How did his hands get so gnarled up? The kid is on a roll it seems. Winning in Vegas and a week later winning the usgp.

You’re getting pretty good at this racing in America stuff. You should stay.
"Yeah, it’s good. I think, I’m pretty sure I’ll be here next year and I’m pretty excited about that"

quote from Monday conversation on racerx... Looks like we are going to get Kid Rocz

Roczen or Herlings would get my wager to be favourites to go 1-2,Roczen would've surly won AMA races last year, anyone who winessed Colorado would have a hard time arguing against that?

Herlings absolute massacre of the opposition at Valkensward was the most impressive performance I have ever seen, apart from RV's ride at the MXoN a few years back, there are some fast American kids coming through as we've seen in SX but this kid can do both disciplines, the real deal for sure

He only wins because he's on a KTM.

The best riders want to come to the US to race, with the exception of a select few. You never see an awesome American rider say he wants to eventually race the GPs, where as an awesome rider from another country wanting to come to the US happens all the time.

As for the argument of the MXoN, I'm pretty sure an American rider has won the individual overall most of the time Team USA has won the event as a team. So the argument of Team USA having just a deeper team rather than the best team just simply doesn't make any sense. They only get to race once a year, and since 05, Team USA has done their talking on the track. The results speak for themselves.

He's only winning on the KTM because it now has linkage.
