I think if Kevin rode all out like he did in Vegas more often throughout his career, he might not be racing today. I think his calculated and somewhat conservative riding style (98% of the time) has given his career some longevity. On the other hand, I don't see James Stewart and his all out riding style making it to age 33.

It's always "he just can't catch a break" or "this year is going to be different", but it's always the same outcome.

Though I have to say (and this may sound a bit weird given the final result), I think Vegas this year was one of Kevin's all time finest performances in his career. He hasn't really been up there much this year but when James passed him you could just sense the fire being lit under Kevin's ass. It's like he suddenly got mad and didn't care about the risks any more. He just pinned it, determined to get JS back. James jumps a quad and the next lap Kevin does it. Wonderful stuff.
