I used T6 15-40wt in my YZF and it did fine, same as I used in my tractor and generators etc. When I bought my 23 Honda I caught 10-30 Maxima full synthetic on sale at 30 bucks a gallon. Down to my last gallon. Looked at prices last night and dang 4 stroke oil got expensive. Tempted to go back to Rotella. I’ve seen a few guys post comments like wouldn’t buy a bike if they knew a guy ran Rotella.
When I bought my Beta 2 stroke it calls 10-50 in Transmission side. I caught Liqui Moly on sale for decent price, still have a gallon or so left.
Just curious if it Rotella is as popular as it once was. I hear comments it was reformulated a few years back, I don’t have a clue.
Comments please, thanks Billy
I still run the T6 15/40 in the blue jug….in my 2 strokes. every now & then I will run Maxima proplus in my 350sfx, cant tell the difference… T6 is still Ma/Ma2 rates… wet clutch ok…
Once I use up the Maxima and other stuff I have. I may go back to Rotella, to many different jugs and I don't have a lot of space.
Its a few year old thread, but T4 has always been the recommended choice between the two oil.

The only reason I don’t currently is their T6 doesn’t come in 10W-30 for MA2, and I don’t want to deviate too far from spec.

Honda recommends GN4 10/30 for your CRF. When changed at our moto-intervals, it’s a good oil and priced relatively inexpensively (and available in 1 gallon jugs). Personally, I’d look into that before going the Rotella route…
I run the T4.
I use that GN4 in my CRF 250F trail bike, may even have some left. It is inexpensive, I don't know why I got on this synthetic oil kick. like you said, changed at proper intervals it works GN4 works plenty good.
Chapmoto had Maxima full synthetic on sale for 41 a gal. Good enough deal for me, bought a couple of gal and free shipping.
I’ve been using the rotella t6 15-40 in my 2024 kx450 since new. 50hr still on stock clutch, piston, and crank. Just checked valves cam lobes and finger followers look brand new.
T4 in everything, including premix…In all seriousness, it’s good oil.
I've used it to fry eggs, but I draw the line at premix!!!
Never ever fry eggs in Wesson oil, but it works great as air filter oil!
Yes, T4 15w-40 in my 2025 KTM 250SX-F. Just split the cases to do a full rebuild and no issues whatsoever. Ridden by a fast B-rider.
Have used the stuff for years in many different bikes - never had any issues. I try to change oil after every ride, and on occasion every other ride. Seems to work well for us.
Thanks for the info! I have a new 23 KX that I put T4 in today . Looking for the same mileage ✊🏽
