So who knew that as you get older life gets more complicated. Some of you probably are set, no problems, no worries. For the rest of us that have had some difficult challenges that changed the life plan and made things quite difficult in certain areas of life. How do you quiet your mind to get to sleep at night. Or even sleep through the night? Not complaining, just wondering what you all do?

I listen to sounds of rain and thunderstorms on you tube. Also summer nights, crickets chirping, and waterfalls. Soft jazz and guided meditation. Diaphragmatic breathing helps me as well. I've got some issues so I'm willing to try anything. I've found that when I focus on my breath it's impossible to think of anything else. Good luck my man
Find some good memories to think about at bed time. Examples: vacations, memories with family, good day at track or gym, or things that went well that day.
Indica.
Yeah, that would turn me into something akin to a coma. I don't do well with that stuff.

I sometimes will take REM caps from hammer nutrition. I’ll sleep good with those and no hangover in the morning (all natural). Lately I’ve been eating Delta 8 gummies. Found one that doesn’t get me all stoned, just helps me sleep with no “hangover” in the morning also. I sleep so good and don’t worry about all the shit that has to be done. I’m self employed and my mind never stops!
Coma, sleep…..isn’t much of a difference! 🤠
Dude I sometimes have those nights.
I'll roll around for hours, mind racing.
I would do gummies, but if I hurt myself at work, I'm screwed.
Drink beer for a couple of hours, eat dinner. Crash out. I eat late. Around 8:00.
If I drink too much I have trouble sleeping. Be 70 tomorrow. I cant do what I did when I was 40 so I have to do everything in moderation. I probably don't have the complications you have though.
Yeah, a few beers early then quit, I sleep like a baby.
The quit part is my problem.
I can teach you how to beat that.
Personally, not a fan of edibles, 50mg does nothing to me. I’m more of a hits from the bong type of guy. THC vape when I’m trying to be discreet.
I used to smoke a lot, not socially but full on.
Then I got a job building fighter aircraft for the US gubmint.
After my last lay-off, I decided to ditch my dream job and go public.
Tried smoking again, and they changed it. I can't do it anymore. I guess it would knock me out.
What brand of the gummies do you use?
I just read that you get a bit of euphoria (high?). I don't know enough about it. I do know the cannabis (even in small amounts) turns me into a paraplegic retard. Soo, I don't plan on experimenting to much in that category.
I do enjoy a beer in the evening here and there but if it's too close to bed time I'll be up more than once to the bathroom. Kind of defeats the purpose. The worst is when I wake up around 3:30-4:00 and then can't go back to sleep. Then the day is really shit. The tinnitus is really loud among other stuff.
Tinnutus.... Ugh.
I have to have the TV on all night.
I ask my wife, "you telling me you can't hear that?"
It's loud.
These are the delta 8 gummies. Pretty mild but I sleep good.
These work too.

MELATONIN.
Have this on my night stand
Melatonin leaves me lethargic in the morning. My wife uses it and she wakes up full of energy, though.
When I get really keyed up and can’t sleep (2-3 times a week), I take an ambien. It works great but you definitely don’t want to mix it with alcohol and you want to make sure that you go to bed right away. If you end up staying awake you will likely have hallucinations of some kind. I know that it’s working when my kindle starts looking like a parchment scroll written in Olde English.
If I do take an ambien I make sure that I have some soothing surf sounds for about an hour on Spotify because it makes me too lazy to get up and do something stupid like drive down to the convenience store in my underwear…….
I,m on prednisone now so there’s no sleep. I take it at 5.30 am & still wired at 23.59. It feels like the inside of my chest is super charged. I usually take zma b4 sleep. The 20+ hr days in the trk for weeks is exhausting. Shut down at 7pm or 2am I like to chit chat & joke around inside the trk stop or where ever. Then I crash & it doesn’t matter what time it is. Try to park where the chances of getting parked in or hit r less. I hv crazy dreams of being in the coolest forest I ever saw & every stride I take . I,m flying totally naked 1,000 ft . Then I see some trolls or something & I cover my junk . Because I don’t want them chasing me down. By accident I taught myself how to lucid dream. So I look forward to sleeping. Lately it sucks tho dealing with constant pain, calling attorneys, tens of thousands of dollars owed money wage theft. As a victim of crime this drives me crazy. I,m not giving up but it’s becoming really stressful & draining.

First step is take it seriously. I know, dumb advice, but it’s true. Develop a schedule like you’re a little kid again. Have a check list, run through it, lights off and no screens after bedtime. It will suck and you’ll feel like an idiot for the first week, but then it’ll work and you’ll feel great. Then you’ll get complacent and break the habit and have to start all over again. Trust the process.
As for more instant relief tips, sleep naked, buy nice sheets, de clutter the area around your bed and keep the temperature 70 degrees max. Sleep is easier when your brain and heart relax. Limiting lights, distractions and cooling down will let your organs tell you it’s time to relax.
Falling asleep has always been a struggle for me. When its real bad, 4 codeine tabs washed down with some good Cape Red wine is my solution.
I've been really fortunate to never have a problem sleeping. Like you, I'm not set for life in any way, shape or form, but I say to myself, "I have done and am doing the best I can," and that's usually enough to calm down the worries. Maybe try something like that.
work day, hard gym session, and chores after, I have the reverse problem! ready for bed by 7pm.. . and only 40 years old..
It's not so much the falling asleep at night. It's to go back to sleep at 3:30 in the morning. It's still to early to get up but can't get back to sleep. Then just laying in bed and thinking of all the things that are undone, the anxiety of not being able to do certain things. Just complications that you have no control over.

Ive struggled with insomnia and trouble sleeping my whole life. I fall asleep best with 1 earbud in, with history/war/space documentaries playing. It doesn't work if the sound is just playing, that keeps me up, the sound has to be plugged straight into my brain then I sleep like a baby.
FYI, delta 8 cbd can be picked up on a drug test, and I've seen people have bad experiences with kratom, but I've never used it myself.
I have been using these for about 6 months. When you go to the checkout, use THOM to get 20% off

I thought it was a gimmick, but after practicing it every night for a week it's completely changed how I sleep.
Look up the 4 - 7 -8 breathing method used by Navy Seals, Pilots etc. My whole life it has been hard to put myself to sleep and relax. Not anymore, it really works but just takes a weeks worth of practice and persistence. Good luck!
Square breathing. It’s great to make you relax. I use it before I shoot.
Unisom over the counter sleep aids. Half a pill an hour before bed. Relax your body and you will sleep like a baby.
in fact, I took one about 45 minutes ago. So, good night.
