Sorry to hear that Soggy. That’s good look’n Boy. What breed is he? He looks like he’s got a little Dingo or something like that in him.
Thanks Kenny,
He is unique looking for sure. He is primarily American bulldog, katahoulah(spelling?) and heeler. Could be some small percentages of other breeds in there but that’s the primary make up. So sharp as a tack and a good protector(even though he’s a wimp really, don’t tell him I said that
)
CT scan and biopsy tomorrow. Surgery to remove an enlarged cancerous spleen is likely following that.
Great looking dog, Soggy, but for a million damn dollars, I never would have guessed there was any American Bulldog in him, much less primarily. Can definitely see the Heeler in the ears and coloration, though. I'm really hoping for the best for you and Reggie.
Thanks Sully.

His mom has a much more bullish look to her. He’s a bit barrell chested which doesn’t come through great in those photos. But yea I agree he doesn’t have many of the bully traits in appearance.
Resting after a long day at the vet and another trip on the docket tomorrow.

Just a note about a movie out at the moment ( well, here in OZ) - The Friend.
It's a small movie, so, So far from the (largely) crap block busters
Human actors in it include Bill Murray, Naomi Watts, Carla Gugino, and others.
But, the true 'Star' is Bing (his real name) , a Great Dane. He doesn't say much, and doesn't do much.
But, he's Great ( a silly Pun on Danes, I know).
He plays, Apollo. I don't think it's much of an acting stretch for the (very) big fella.
And, if you don't tear up at a scene on a beach that delivers bit of an emotional scare, close to the end, well, you're a Heartless Bastardo...........
By the way : a young Lady across the road from me, works at a major Doggo Rescue Center - I've got her keeping an eye out for me for a little Jack Russell girl. I dare not go visit there before she finds one , as I will want to take all the Pups home with me.
Some pretty good news on the doggo front.
Ollie's making great progress in getting up on all fours, and trying to walk again.

He's able to take care of his #1 and #2 business on his own now.
And definitely is able to wag his tail when she's there to see him.
Still a long way to go, but sooooo much of a better result than what I/we feared when we first found him paralyzed.
Great to hear that Joey.
I'm hoping to hear the same good news from you as well.
Our dogs !!!
(And cats)
Our world would suck without them.
Awesome!
I was beginning to think no news was bad news.
Hes in for CT scan and biopsy right now if possible. Trying to stay positive.
Plasma Cell Neoplasia. Essentially a bone marrow cancer similar to multiple myeloma. Trying to get with a specialist to see what we can do to manage and make him as comfortable as possible.
Apparently extremely rare. First case the Dr that did the scans has ever seen.
Joey and Soggy, I'm pulling for both of your pups to have the best outcome.
I was afraid to open this thread today.
because this isn't what I wanted to hear.
poor little guy.
Props to you for everything you're going to be doing for him.
I have a very good relationship with the veterinarian, and her staff, who help me with my cat, who's diabetic.
They talk about all of the people who don't make the financial effort when their pet's health fails. and opt out.
Respect to you.
If my dog had a wallet he would empty it for me, I would do the same for him
Pets in my family have always been part of it. I could never live with the guilt of not giving him a chance.
I was 99% sure the result was going to be cancerous and in some ways this result is better then the most common Splenic cancer (hemangio sarcoma) as the prognosis for that isn’t great. He see’s a specialist in a couple weeks.
Pulling for you soggy!
Great news Joey!
Here's Bing from The Friend ( if you are 'triggered 'by Fallon, well, Naomi starts talking about the movie at around 3.36 to minimize your angst) :
He's a great Singer.........
And Iggy Pops' contribution to the soundtrack is good, too.
Pit Row
Great News!💯
Glad to hear Ollie's making strides, Joey.
Hope you can get your dog some positive treatments, Soggy.
Ollie update.
haven't been able to get away to see him in a few weeks.
We walked in today, and he got up on his own, and hobbled over to see us, tail wagging.
not ashamed to say I lost it.
He's such a beautiful animal !!!
Pics to come.
So happy to hear this. Dogs are more than pets.
Wolfgang enjoys coming to the shop with me on Saturdays
Sog, breaks my heart to read stuff like this. We just went through this a few months ago. Baron, for the last few years has had a damaged ACL. Mrs. TM bought him some leg braces that helped incredibly. Then even with the braces his mobility went down hill fast. After a LOT of testing, Multiple Myelima. Getting news that you have to put down your dog is soo wrong. Sorry for your dog and family.
TM
During summer here, Sydney wears boots due to parking lot temps. Sometimes I wish people could just leave me and the Mrs. alone to do our errands. But no, can't get 50 yards in a store before someone wants to have conversation about Sydney. I try not to be rude but fuck people, can you just sometimes leave us alone? It's like they've never seen a dog in boots before.
I mentioned in another post about us fostering quite a few dogs.
This is Boz a dog that we fostered for several weeks that we quickly learned what a coon hound sings like 😆 He went to a PA group just north of Baltimore and the foster there adopted him and one one of our trips we got to stop in and see them.
After fostering a dog they really do happily remember you when you get see them again over the years.
Thanks TM. We see an oncologist this week and will come up with a plan for him. In the meantime trying to give him as many good days as possible. Luckily he’s not showing many signs yet of the cancer. He’s a tough SOB. When he was probably 4 or 5 I had him on a mtn bike ride. He miscalculated a log hop and a root of a branch on the log punctured him right behind the rib cage. We had to walk 2-3 miles out to the truck. He was smelling flowers the whole way, couldn’t be bothered by the wound. Got him to the vet and they said he was millimeters from puncturing the lining that hold your organs in and bleeding out. This won’t be his first battle 💪🏻
He’s a cutie, what breed is he?
Sydney is an Australian Shepherd. Kind of funny that the breed was actually developed in North America. We got her just before she was 8 weeks old. There are quite a few more pics of her in the Biggest Political Thread Ever, check it out!
I'm breaking the rules here, but at least my little mate here's Species starts with a P.
I just took this pic on my phone, a few minutes ago
He / She is a Brushtail Possum. I've a resident tribe of them in the trees around my house, and this one likes to hang out near my front door, and eat the flower buds off the tree it's in. He / She won't come down, that would be beneath He / She's dignity, but waits for me to come out, pick up the buds that have fallen on the pathway, and hand them to him / her. Here it's getting impatient, and was waving It's Hand at me, with a "give them to me, you silly bloody Bi Ped" expression :
