Anyone had it this done? I have a cataract on my left eye and need to have this procedure. Any info would be appreciated. I have zero clue about it and a little nervous about it.

I won't be of much help, but I had an employee that had it done, both eyes, about 2 months apart. Said it was not a big deal.

Easiest thing ever !!! Had my right one done in '17. Left one is getting done Oct 1st ... can't wait !!!

So they should ask if you're nervous and would like a little "calm me down" medication, which they will if they're any good. If they don't, ask for it.

You'll lay back and look into a white background,  as the doctor goes through the procedure the assistant will keep puttin  drops in your eye. You never see an instrument or the doctors hand. In the initial visit they will give you lens options, far, near, mid and a very expensive multi lens. Whatever works for you, I didn't want to wear glasses while driving so I went for the far. When you leave your vision is corrected to a ridiculous degree, it truly does take a bit of time for the brain to catch up. You will be using drops for about a week and a half to help the recovery, do it. Your eye will be uncomfortabl  for about a week and when you want to rub it ... DON'T!! Rub the lower eyelid without getting near your new lens.

Procedure takes about 25min from start to finish BUT the doctors part only takes around 7-8 minutes.

Hope this helps.

And yes I was freaking out prior as well.

It's pretty much like kmc said except for.......well, it's pretty much like kmc said. Easy peazy. You will wonder why you were worried when it's done.

I have either worn glasses or used contacts since I was about 10 years old and I Had both eyes done with the multi focal lens and was shocked at how clear I could see the details of clouds up in the sky with bare eyes afterwards.

Be careful though because my cataract eye DR specialist said everything was included in one flat price but then right after getting both done they wanted to do a YAG procedure that kind of laser fine tunes it and they wanted me to pay out of pocket after they said it was included when I made the appointment to have it done so I walked out. I had found them trying to charge me for something else before that and had to call them out about it then it was mysteriously covered.

I think my 2nd eye was done 2 weeks later.
