Interesting article from one of the co-authors of the order the Donfather will spin to justify his latest move here.

"I co-drafted the order alongside experts from DHS, DOJ, the Intelligence Community, and other agencies. The central idea was to make it easier for a president to impose real consequences on foreign actors who interfered in U.S. elections. NOT to revisit vote counts. NOT to rummage through ballot boxes. And certainly NOT to allow a president to deploy the military against local election infrastructure because he didn’t like the outcome.

What’s ironic is that Trump was annoyed we put the executive order in front of him. He didn’t want to sign it. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. But it probably has something to do with the fact that he didn’t want to punish Russia, certainly not for trying to help him win elections.

In any event, he’s now conveniently reinterpreting the order as some all-powerful election snooping tool. It is not. But you don’t need to take my word for it. You can read the order yourself. What’s more, I really think you should. Because in the wake of Trump’s comments this week, it sounds like at some point he’s going to trot out this argument again, claiming he has the power to Hoover up ballots across America wherever he doesn’t like the outcome of an election.

"But it probably has something to do with the fact that he didn’t want to punish Russia, certainly not for trying to help him win elections."

Are you seriously still trying to push the discredited Russia, Russia, Russia hoax? Matter of fact, I heard just yesterday that new documents have been forwarded to the DOJ implicating Obama as the architect of that.

I agree with your last line above.

Why are we cool with President Trump pardoning so many people that have done very dangerous and corrupt things?

In his role as the 47th president of the United States (January 20, 2025 – present), Donald Trump granted executive clemency to more than 1,600 individuals as of July 23, 2025, all of whom were charged or convicted of federal criminal offenses.[1] This included a blanket pardon of some some 1,500 individuals associated with the January 6 United States Capitol attack.

NBC News analyzed Trump's pardons for 88 individuals granted through January 20, 2026, and found that more than half of them went to wealthy criminals convicted for white-collar crimes such as money laundering and fraud.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_granted_executive_clemency….

I know we will never all agree on everything, but it's more important than ever these days to know and understand your own values. The key is being consistent with them.

You ever raise kids? Let's say you (think democrat leadership) have some kids, you let them play basketball (Think summer of love riots) in the house all the time. Thanksgiving the whole family comes over and the cousins, the cousins (think republicans) start playing basketball (think J6) in the house and you get all pissed off and put them in time out (think jail). Now Grand Dad (Think DT) comes along and says WTF you've allowed this behavior all along and now you want to punish for it, get them out of time out.

I must've missed when Democrats tried to storm the Capitol building to try and keep Sleepy Joe in power?

They (J6 Rioters) sought to keep him (the Donfather) in power by preventing a joint session of Congress from counting the Electoral College votes to formalize the victory of then president-elect Joe Biden by trying to storm and take over the Capitol building. When did the blue team do this to the red team again?

The blue team killed Ashley Babbitt in cold blood...  She was unarmed. . .

Micheal Byrd walked free.

They also shot protestors in the face with rubber bullets and invited the crowd to riot

I consistent with my views, Sam as many others here.

Just because you don't like what we say doesn't give you any right to condemn the truth.

It's time it all came out and justice done

I am by no means trying to condemn the truth. Though truth is a tricky word these days.

She was unarmed but actively trying to storm and take over the Capitol with a large group of domestic terrorists. She was seen smashing windows and was shot in the shoulder climbing through a busted door.

Yes, she was shot with her hands in the air. Pretti was shot in the back of the head while on the ground, not resisting officers at the time. Yes, there is video of him spitting at, and kicking out a taillight a week or so before. This is not acceptable behavior either, they should've arrested him then and there.

Many here are cheering on this type of individual being killed by government officials today because they are from 'the other team'.

The Trump administration is giving her family 5mil, let's see what Pretti's family gets from this administration.

Many people are consistent with their views, but not consistent in how they apply their morals.

That’s quite the narrative! Sounds like it came straight from CNN, MSNBC, or adam schiff.

Did you miss the part when the Dems encouraged people to riot and burn down buildings? Did you miss the part where during those riots people actually died? Ya'll want to make hay about Pretty but Capitol Police shotting Ashley dead is perfectly fine. And let's not forget the agitators that were paid to be there by your government just to create that narrative. Ya'll want to encourage riots and then complain when people get together at an event that doesn't jive with your narrative. Yup, not surprised you missed something.

There is zero doubt in my mind that Fulton County is corrupt, along with all the other places that miraculously seen to get all the votes they need by whatever means possible .

One man , one Vote , with ID , on the day.

If you think this is controversial, you are the reason the USA is the shit show it is.

I didn't miss those parts and don't condone it.

I may have missed the part where we pardoned a bunch of democratic rioters that burned down buildings a few years back though.

I think protests are good, and while there was some very rocky elements the protesting in Minn (and across the country) did appear to have an effect on how ICE will operate. That is a good sign.

I'm not encouraging anyone to riot. But I do absolutely think we need to put our differences aside and come together over some common ground, or things will only get worse.

Also I don't consider myself a Democrat.

Edit:

I should have said prosecuted.

Pretty obvious you don't need to pardon them if you don't charge and prosecute them.

Wasn't it the Philly mayor that said "we need to let them protest"?

One more thing to add:

Waiver of violations: In July 2020, Kenney approved the waiver of hundreds of civil code violation notices (CVNs) issued to protesters between May 30 and June 30 (mostly for curfew and failure to disperse violations), emphasizing that the "pain of those marching is very real".

Notice the mostly, because you know, they were mostly peaceful protests.

Idk about that dude. In Portland 2020 for example there were around 1000 people arrested. None of them pardoned. The ones that were caught stealing, damaging property, etc. were charged.

In 2020, nearly 1,000 people were arrested during protests in Portland, Oregon, with many facing federal charges for actions at the Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, such as assaulting officers, arson, and failing to obey lawful orders. Most arrested individuals were local residents, not out-of-state agitators.

District Attorney Mike Schmidt took over in August and promptly announced his office would presumptively decline to prosecute many protest-related charges. The decision has drawn harsh criticism, but Schmidt says it has been necessary to preserve resources for more serious crimes as well as protect speech rights.

“I had to make a decision, based on resources in this office, where we were gonna prioritize,” Schmidt told KOIN 6 News. “Breaking windows of businesses, lighting things on fire, stealing from those stores in the protest environment so that’s what we’re focusing on. We’re not using our limited resources on people who aren’t doing those things.”

https://www.koin.com/news/protests/policing-portlands-protests-1000-arrests-handful-of-prosecutions/#:~:text=Since%20late%20May%2C%20nearly%201000%20people%20have,attorney%20explained%2C%20but%20others%20say%20it%20gives

EDIT - I agree with Philly mayor. We need to let people protest. Handle the bad actors and agitators accordingly, public/civilian and governmental.

Some day you might post an attempt at humor on here that is actually funny. I'm hopeful. You can do it buddy.

Or just start posting memes, find someone else that wrote something actually funny then repost it here.

EDIT - I love fucked up humor myself, don't get me wrong. Folks like Chance and Joey B are quite good at it here for example, both original thoughts and memes.

And I'm not the posting police. Keep on keeping on! Just try and improve your game a bit.
