Dean wilson is a champ?
so is max anstie sx2 and roczen sx1
what title did dean win? Or where there two different series ending in Australia this weekend?
Dean won the Australian championship on Friday night. Max and Kenny won the WSX championship on Saturday night.
Two different series.
AUS X = Australian Supercross Championship
WSX = FIM World Supercross Championship
Thankyou because that damn wsx on the banner was confusing me!
Most things WSX do are confusing, to be fair. The big tip off for me is when you have good, smart, super experienced announcers who still sound a little unsure or are stumbling through explanations of things that are so convoluted 😂
Real happy to see Deano and Max win something though, however the championships are laid out, they can only race the races, tracks and competition that is out in front of them...
Like Kenny, we could pull at the thread of him being a '2x world champion' from racing like 5 rounds a couple of which were at circus tracks, but I guess he still showed up and got it done.
I hope WSX can do something that works for international fans to see live supercross, but it's a long road from these first two seasons.
Slight rant over.

3 different champs in one night....
You are an idiot.
It was actually 4 champions crowned on Friday night
and
2 on Saturday night.
Come one man, my 12 year old son can work this basic stuff out, surely you can.
True equity has been attained.
It's now a sport where everyone can be a champion.
(Overseas anyway)
You just have to find a series with the least amount of competition.
Bring on A1.
The first round of real SX.
Where the real champion will be crowned when the dust settles.
Am I an idiot....or is it I just don't give two shits enough to follow any of these pathetic "world championships" or know the details.
I do love coming into these threads for a good laugh though.
Some of you Aussies sure are wound tight...
Still not sure which series or race I just watched but the track looked cool.
I spent an hour trying to figure this out too. And am still confused. So did they race the same track on the same weekend with different races. Why didn’t all the guys line up for all the races? Very confusing. It’s like an off season race within an off season race?
How is this such a concept for some of you to wrap your head around?? 😂 two different series two days apart…
Very clear.
Seems like I missed a day of racing. Maybe. Or maybe not.
Or maybe Adam discreetly canceled one of the two days, just like he did in Abu Dhabi...
So FIRST I see that Deno won the championship in Melbourne ….and then some time later I see Rockzen wins the championship in Melbourne (not realizing that Competing championships were racing in the same stadium on the same weekend)
Then there’s the fact that both riders raced abu dabi for WSX then some raced one series this weekend and apparently others raced a different series the same weekend.
Pretty simple to see how someone who doesn’t really care about these “off season” races but still is interested in them can be confused
so how many races did it take to win a wsx championship this time?
If you didnt watch it live they made it confusing as hell, I can explain why pretty easily.
So I had to wait until sunday (today) until the races were on fs1 and fs2 so I could dvr them and watch. I dont care about the aus sx championship so I had no plan to watch that. So I looked on my youtubetv app and saw “fim world supercross championship melbourne” but with one race at 10 in the morning at 1hr long and another race at 8pm at 2 hours long. Both said wsx championship so I figured the second one was just a rerun. Not the case… Unbeknownst to me the first one was actually the australian sx championship, but it was labelled wrong on the tv.
So I turn it on and I think Im watching the wsx championship. #1 because it said so on the tv, #2 because the show itself had wsx logos on the tv… They must have just reused the tv graphic and didnt bother to cover the wsx logos in stadium, and #3 because I see Max anstie is racing and he was at the abu dhabi wsx race. Anyways after a couple laps I noticed there was absolutely nobody in the class and was like ok wtf is going on here? Eventually after flipping around and looking on my phone Im able to figure out this was the aus sx championship. Again I havent watched it so I dont know whos in it. Its friggin labelled as the wsx championship and max anstie is racing so it was confusing as shit.
On top of all of that bull crap after I saw that first 250 race they put up the free practice AFTER the first main event. What the hell kind of janky bs is that? Since I had realized the wsx was later on tonight I just turned the race off. What a shit show.
Now its later and I go to turn on the wsx race and skip thru superpole and now I see max anstie again… So I’m like shit what the hell is going on is this an aus sx race again? After flipping around fwd and back and seeing roczen there at one point and looking on my phone again (and seeing anstie actually won both championships wtf) I realize that yes this is finally the wsx race. Talk about a god damn clusterf*** holy shit that was stupid. Yea it makes sense now that everything was labelled completely wrong and the same guy was racing in multiple different championships, but jeeesus theres a reason so many ppl were confused as hell. Leave it up to wsx to just cluster f the shit out of everything.
50% more than last year: three.
100% my TV thought wsx was on this morning now I'm actually watching it at 6:00 tonight nobody knows what's going on LOL
Pit Row
One more thing idk why they had 2 riders out there with the same exact damn number. Both chris blose and vince friese are #3, with blose in 250 and vince 450. Not only that but theyre both on hondas and the same team. Confusing. I had tried skipping fwd to the next 250 race and saw a #3 at the line on a honda and was like wtf this is the 450 again. Come to find out it was 250 its just that someone else had the exact same bike and number. Theres an easy fix for this that literally every sport figured out a long time ago and has gotten right and its not giving competitors duplicate numbers.
I'm pretty sure every single championship but ama allow 250 riders and 450 riders to have the same number. Coz they are not in the same race so it doesn't matter.
You want confusing. Aus x open in Sydney in maybe 2016 had three guys racing with the number 2. Aussie jay marmont was racing the series already with #2. Then at the final round Cooper webb and Ryan villopoto raced. All 3 had #2.
I cant watch wsx. It is so cringy. I bought the tv package and tried. I was willing to give them my time but they lost me. Cancelled rounds, poor delivery, the wwe villian act with friese, broadcast issues etc. It honestly sucks as a entire package. Some of the races have been entertaining but overall it really is a low quality product.
😂 you guys can’t seriously be that dumb! You’ve got to be pulling the piss 🤣
Lol.
They whinge about this.
But then expect a casual veiwer to know ama sx has 250 east and west and sometimes deegan will be racing and sometimes not. But that's simple for them to figure out.
But impossible to tell the difference between aus sx on Friday and wsx on Saturday.
Again… if you didnt watch it live which put each race on a different day, it meant both races were on sunday and both said “fim world supercross championship” on the tv. The “wsx championship” at 10am ended up being the aus x race and then the real “wsx championship” was at 8pm. It makes sense after the fact that the tv got the labels wrong, but at the time you dont know that.
It didnt help either that when you turned on the first “wsx championship” (aus x) they had wsx logos on the tv, in the stadium, and max anstie was leading the 250 class. I guess it was too much to ask to cover the wsx logos for the aus x race, but its pretty simple to see how this could be confusing when youre trying to watch it after the fact and everything is labelled wrong and you have the same riders doing both championships.
So you never listened to the commentary?
Seriously? I didn’t watch any coverage or even click on a results page and I knew there were two different events on.
Maybe the comments in past threads about the average motocross fan finding the scoring system and race numbers confusing are right…
I didn’t watch it live. I do know how to read though. One night was ausx and one night was WSX. Wasn’t that hard. Don’t have to follow off season races to know how to read titles of articles and videos.
so, a 3-race world championship and one of the 3 races was also a 1 race national championship. got it.
On tv there was no ausx race to be found. It had absolutely nothing to do with being able to read or not. There was only the “Fim world supercross championship, melbourne” on fs1 and fs2.
Heres a picture of it. The 1:48 race on fs1 was where the ausx race ended up being and the wsx races were on fs2. Again both races were listed under the wsx championship. I now know this after the fact but at the time nothing about this tells me which one is the aus x championship and which is the wsx championship.
Sound more like the network listed it wrong more so then it's wsx fault.
Why would fs1 show the aus sx round when it's not even on Australian TV.
