Well, I was hoping for something different from him this year.

Great news..

From the 15x they replayed his crash I didn’t see his head hit the ground. Was expecting some broken ribs or some internal injuries..

The disrespect is wild 

I'd like to hear the reason for the crash. Slowmo you can see him trying to hit the gear shift lever so I'm assuming a false neutral. Wold like to hear Phil's opinon. 

Glad to see he’s ok. Was hoping he didn’t re-injure his knee. Love the sport but hate seeing these guys get hurt.

To me it looked like he was in too low of a gear which bound his shock and unloaded on him. I was waiting for that section to claim someone all night. They are going so damn fast through these rhythms. 

You dont have to hit your head to suffer a concussion.  

Glad both riders are ok.

I have had a lower back bruise at my waistline.  It was about the size of a football and black,blue, etc...  pretty tough injury. . 

Crashes can be so weird. Watching slow mo it didn't even look like his head hit the dirt once but has a concussion. 

Concussions aren’t limited to only hits to the head. Any sudden momentum change can cause the brain to bounce around inside your skull and cause a concussion. Even crazier, fighters can get concussed from body blows. 

Yeah thats crazy. I was surprised when i read concussion. Just shows how much momentum these guys have through those rhythms because he definitely didn't hit his head.

It looked like he had a bit of whiplash on the g-out, hit his head on the fender and then landed flat on his back in the soft dirt. That's a lot of fast movement for your brain. Then they showed him trying to take his goggles off, after they were off. 

I watched the replay several times after reading this thread and I'd say Stillsmokin is dead on. Looks like his head hits the front wheel so hard it gets whipped back like a baseball being shot out of a pitching machine.
