Edited Date/Time 8/15/2024 10:33am

tapped to oversee the border by biden, and after the epic fail the media is trying to memory hole it.

Harris supporters, please explain and win me over!

From the BBC news

"Announcing Ms Harris's appointment as his immigration czar, Mr Biden told reporters and officials at the White House: "She's the most qualified person to do it, to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle [Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador], and the countries that are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks - stemming the migration to our southern border"."

This is gonna be fun…

“We didn’t say what we said!”

Saw USA Today get smoked today for lying about their own stories in print on the matter.

So, Kamala was NEVER the “Border Czar”? Oh…ok.

See you at the debate, Bitches! 🤣

This is some fascinating stuff going on down there. Pre debate things were kInda close-ish. After that, it was pretty clear to everyone even the deniers that JB is not the guy for the job. Then the shooting really swung things to DT hard. Then the convention was pushing it to invincible territory for him and the Repubs. A few days later JB bows out and now there's a big blue wave building behind his replacement. Lots of days left until November, gotta really wonder what else will happen to shift momentums. I don't think it matters much what your opinion of JBs replacement is - there are enough undecideds and middles out there that the wave will catch, that the Repub ticket should now really be concerned about their chances of winning.

Wrong.

There are no "undecided" voters this election cycle. This election will be decided by voter enthusiasm.

From north of the border,

"Kamala Harris is a vacuous, lobotomized, shallow, inauthentic imbecile. She knows nothing. She has achieved nothing. She has used every non-meritocratic tool to climb the political career. She is a racist; she is divisive; she promotes the cancer of diversity, inclusion, and equity. She is the Justin Trudeau of the US. Beware."

There are plenty of us out there. This little fact will probably tip the scales too:

Wrong.  I am an undecided voter.  I am undecided between Chase Oliver, RFK Jr., or other candidates that will be on the Texas ballot.  I AM decided that I won't be voting for a major party candidate for President in this election.

Vet323 has a point.  The change in the Democratic ticket won’t lure Trump voters, nor will it swing Biden voters to Trump. What it will do is motivate democrats that may have taken a pass on another 4 years under Biden.

This is also where the Vance pick doesn’t look so great. An alternate VP choice may have kept Biden voters at home, but many view JD as Trump 2.0, which along with change in candidates will increase “blue” turn out.

Trump should focus on Harris’ record and minimize the personal attacks. His rhetoric has grown old for all but his most ardent supporters, and he risks going into uncharted waters.  Harris is not Hilary, and he’s smart enough to know the difference. Question is, can he help himself?

Harris may end up with black voters staying home or even switching. Trump has already made fairly wide inroads in to what used to be a solid Democrat constituent. The problem she has with them is her record as California AG and prosecuting drug users.

True independents have had a major voice in close elections. They don't really need huge numbers in the states that will decide this election which are just a handful.

Her weak resume doesn't mean shit.   Obama won 2 terms with an even weaker one and the guilty white voters that voted for him can say their hands are now clean.

She has a short time to impress the Dem bosses. I'm still not convinced that we won't have a contested convention.

The mania around Harris is due in large part to Biden bowing out. Once that subsides she may face challenges in building momentum.  The democrats can learn from Trump’s VP pick and not choose someone in lockstep with Harris’ agenda.  Vance has had almost zero positive impact on Trump’s campaign, and Harris would be best served in choosing a moderate candidate to ease fears of a progressive WH.

Here's where you're wrong. If Vance is 2.0, Vance is NOT Trump 2.0 but Trump POLICIES 2.0. The distinction is that many people here like the Trump policies but have been very vocal saying "they'll never vote for that piece of shit" Well, you'll have a hard time claiming (like they do) Vance cheats on his wife, Vance doesn't pay subcontractors, Vance is a womanizer.... You can pin None of those labels on him. Only their policies are in alignment.

Isn't it crazy that we live in a time where you have to type the sentence, "The VP pick is nothing like the President who cheats on his wife(s), doesn't pay subcontractors, and is a womanizer", to justify any political appointee.

Wild wild fucking times.

If you are voting in TX, your vote for whoever is about as useless as mine in CA. The state is so lopsided to a particular party, only my vote for local issues have any impact. So really there are a few swing states that will decide it for us. I think Vance was the best choice for the few midwest states Trump needs to solidify the electoral count.

If it’s not more than $950…it don’t matter.

It’s the Prop that ushered in our current “Crash and Grab” era of mob-robberies. It’s something she was allllll about.

But TM does make a good point. Vance has a very different personal story from Trump in almost every imaginable way.  His pre-2016 comments concerning Trump would typically nullify his candidacy for VP, but he eventually kissed the ring. Just as Harris did with Biden.

But the guy doesn't get any money when he robs her the next day because she spent all her money the day before on your medical bills while the felon gets free medical along with all the illegals.

What a world we live in.

What did Harris say about Biden before kissing the ring?

She was calling him out on his segregation, and bussing policies he voted for as a senator.

I don't think she ever came out and said he was a racist, but sure implied it.

Isn't it crazy that we live in a time where you have to type the sentence, "The VP pick is nothing like the President who cheats...

Isn't it crazy that we live in a time where you have to type the sentence, "The VP pick is nothing like the President who cheats on his wife(s), doesn't pay subcontractors, and is a womanizer", to justify any political appointee.

Wild wild fucking times.

Are you talking about Biden shoving his digits up his Senate aid?

Asking for a friend

But Biden, but Biden, but Biden!

Holy shit man, can't you guys criticize anyone on the right without having to draw comparisons to people on the left? What happened to the good old days when a man was judged on how good of a man HE IS and not how good of a man he is compared to someone else?

She was calling him out on his segregation, and bussing policies he voted for as a senator.

I don't think she ever came out and said he was a racist, but sure implied it.

I suppose this is where I feel it's a little different, "their polices are shit" vs "they're shit".

I know it's splitting hairs at this point, but, I'm friends a bunch of really good people that have done some really dumb shit but I'd never be friends with someone who is shit.

Just a personal opinion though.

You're not wrong dude but ya'll have also pretty good at pointing the finger at Trump any time Biden's shortcomings were brought up.

Blind followers arguing with more blind followers....

I'm about the only one here that shit talks both sides.

I've shit talked Biden and the dems countless times over my (looks at profile), holy fuck, 11 years on this board!

It always goes the same way, I question something about something on the right, people accuse me of not saying stuff about the left, I say something about the left, and the same people – instead of acknowledging that I said something about the left – instantly pivot to, "yeah, well, what about this?!". Yet when I question the right it's, "sheep this", "libtard that", "snowflake pussy", "demoRat scum", blah blah blah and sometimes someone sending an internet tough guy message where they warn me they'll kick my ass if they ever see me.
