The result has been a "bigly" increase in higher crime rates in the same communities it was intended to help.

At some point you have to pick a side, that's the way a 2 party system is. No matter what side you pick you don't have to buy into every talking point that comes out everyday from your preferred party. Alot of countries have a bunch of different parties that then combine to form a 2 party system, but each party has distinct priorities. The US isn't set up like that, it's one of the mistakes of the US system.

This board is largely comprised of a single demographic: white guys aged 30 to, uh, let’s just say a number greater than 30. Plus we’re talking/venting on a motocross site, which is the definition of a niche sport. And only a small percentage of those people contribute commentary to any website. It sounds like you're trying to get me to defend all of Biden's positions. That's something I'll never do. I've said here many times, the way we vote sucks and forces us into a two party system. My "support" of Biden isn't even partisan. It's so obvious how much of a threat Trump is and as I've also said here many times, his actions go beyond politics. I'd have the same opinion if Hillary Clinton refused to concede in 2016, constantly claimed fraud, then planned a rally at the exact place, day, and time that her election loss was getting certified to make Donald Trump the next president, after which, at her encouragement, they marched on the Capitol and rioted, saying things like, "Hang Joe Biden (VP at the time so it's a direct correlation)", "Where are you Paul Ryan we are coming (again a direct correlation)", injured 140 police officers, attempted to push past Secret Service protecting the VP and Congress, threw a rope and noose over the gallows, had multiple people there in tactical gear and zip ties, etc.
When guys like Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, John McCain, etc. are all being called RINOs by the Trump crowd, that should tell you a lot. Household Republican/Conservative names for decades. They've pushed so far right it's scary. I have nothing against anyone who voted for Trump twice. If you still support him now, however, that's what is baffling to me, as what he did post election loss is the most unAmerican thing any POTUS has ever done. He could have accepted the loss like HW and Carter, as recent examples, and moved on with his life, and my opinion of him would not be what it is today.
Anyway, I have no problem with securing our border. I think our immigration policy in general needs a ton of work. When people truly want to come here and better themselves, they should be vetted properly and we should welcome them. It's what makes our country amazing. Over 40% of us can trace our ancestry to Ellis Island's immigration papers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. That percentage is much higher if you are Caucasian. Trump wanting to secure the border isn't an issue. I think we all lock our doors at night. The argument can certainly be made the massive allocation of funds for a huge border wall isn't worth what it would do, and that money is better spent elsewhere. But more than that, so many millions of immigrants, of all races, whether they come here legally or illegally, are not terrible people. They're looking to better their lives, and they look to our country as that beacon of hope. The New Colossus is on the Statue of Liberty for a reason, and it's a short poem I'd encourage everyone to read. So when Trump, as POTUS, uses the terminology he did to refer to those many immigrants, yeah that's a bad look and he should be criticized for it. He made it sound like every single immigrant is coming to rape and murder every woman here in the US. Fear mongering at its finest.
