DLC coating?

I'm thinking about dlc coating a few parts on a build I'm working on. Who have you guys used to get coating done?

The parts better be new or freshly lapped and super finished. I work with DLC engine parts and if the finish isn't correct and it comes apart it will destroy basically anything it comes in contact with.

All new parts are being used. I'm going to dlc a piston pin and possibly coat the top end bearing with a dry film of some sort. Not getting to crazy.

I would recommend Industrial Hard Carbon in Denver, NC.

I've used Calico, Northeast Coatings, Applied Diamond, ect and IHC has been the best for DLC.

You may want to check out microblue. I just did my entire transmission, top end and crank.

Yeah it is reasonable. Call and talk to Craig. He is a nice guy, and he will blow your mind with some of his claims. So far so good on my 2 stroke engine! I attached a few pictures of it.

I have been looking at doing this to my hubs as well. This may be a ridiculous question but has anyone ever attempted to blu hubs like gun barrels are done?? I'd love this look but not sure how well it would work on hubs.

Gun barrels are steel, hubs are aluminum. You cant blue them like a gun barrel. You can anodize them with a custom color and try to match the blue but it wont come out anywhere close to the effects bluing a barrel has

Gotcha...I wasn't that familiar with the material that had to be used when bluing. They're KTM hubs so I may just polish the mess out of em lol
