judged by the front disc, fork, swing arm, rear wheel and airbox it's a 95.

Its been a good week! got my frame back after being powder coated, got parts back from the soda blaster, got graphics, got all the parts for a full motor rebuild, got swing arm, linkage, head set and wheels bearings and ordered plastics. On the down side I spent heaps of money and the misses isn't happy. hahaha

Hopefully get the pipe back on Monday and drop the motor and carby off to get cleaned.

Looking forward to bolting it back together!!

Parts look good, did you blast them yourself? The swingarm looks like it had more work done then just the blasting, the sides are usually all scratched up.

Very nice! On the crank Is there a reason you don't want to stay rebuild stock? I run my 96 in vintage here and there, ran if often a few years back and am still on the stock crank as the day I bought it used over 10 years ago.

Thanks PN27416, I never really gave it much thought, I just thought it would be cheaper and easier to replace the whole lot. You have got me thinking now! Haha

The airbox is a dead giveaway that its NOT a 92-93.Looks like a 95 , Some of you pin heads shouldn't be allowed around MX bikes. devil

You do not want a Wiesco crank.
How much was soda blasting? I have a cheapie Harbor Frieght soda blaster. It's an effort but I like the results.

Please excuse my ignorance, who did you get the graphics from and are they available for a CR 500 91-01? Soda blasting looks great!

Hi maxpower, the soda blasting cost $220 for all the parts in the pic. Its an extra $110 for the PC expansion chamber, he is going to blast the chrome off then put a heat proof clear coat on it. It will hopefully be ready on monday afternoon. I will post some pics when I get it back.

Hi VintageRacer,

I got the graphics off a guy on here, MCfan4life, he has a build called "1996 CR250 McGrath Replica Rebuild", in Old school moto. I'm not sure if they will fit a CR500 or if he has any, but just contact him and he will soon tell you. If you do buy a set you won't be disappointed, they are great quality.

If you're still looking for the Honda Racing clutch and ignition covers,
contact the seller from this Ebay link. He has repro covers for both sides:

Here's a set on one of my motors:
