I haven't been following the price of vintage bikes but apparently they have matched the same cost increase as building materials. A 70 dollar sheet of OSB 1/2" sheathing is as ridiculous as a 5000 dollar 89 KX125

Are bikes really selling at these prices?
Or did this seller bump his head before listing it?

It would seem the current trend is to find a vintage dirt bike, declare it a barn find, and demand a ridiculous amount of money for it while investing nothing in it to improve it's actual worth. Anyone who's been doing this for any length of time knows that to build a "racer" level bike will add $1500.00 + to a "ready to race" purchase. A legit "museum" quality OE restoration can cost $5000.00 and up depending on the unit. Unfortunately, the used market does not reflect this. Numerous people trying to score big bucks with no investment........

Didn't sell and no bids should tell you something, you can ask what ever you want but anyone paying the crazy asking price is another thing all together.

My favorite meaningless description is "rare."

Anything truly rare the people willing to pay stupid money will know. "Rare" 99% of the time means a POS that barely survived.
