Might detune him a bit. Rossi ahead of Stoner on the fastest track of the series, Nickey's 6th.
MotoGP World Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo escaped serious injury in a spectacular crash during the first practice session for the Grand Prix of China this morning (Friday).
Lorenzo, who celebrates his 21st birthday on Sunday, was thrown high in the air when he highsided from his Fiat Yamaha coming out of turn two. The Mallorca - based rider who won his first MotoGP race in Portugal three weeks ago, was rushed to the medical centre at the Shanghai circuit and then taken to hospital for a scan.
Incredibly Lorenzo, who is the current 250 cc World Champion, was diagnosed with a chipped bone in his left ankle, bruising to his right ankle and right knee but no fractures. A decision if he will be fit to ride in the qualifying session tomorrow afternoon will be made later.
In the absence of Lorenzo his three great rivals Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Danny Pedrosa fought a titanic battle at the front in the two practice sessions held in dry sunny conditions.
Seven times World Champion Rossi led the way from World Champion Stoner who'd dominated the proceedings last year on the Marlboro Ducati. Joint Championship leader Pedrosa, who won his first MotoGP race in China two years ago, also led the way but finally had to settle for third. Rossi was the only rider to lap under two minutes which he did in the morning session.
Japanese rider Shinya Nakano smiled for the first time this year after finishing in fourth place riding the San Carlo Gresini Honda machine in front of Americans John Hopkins and former World Champion Nicky Hayden.

The rookie has been flying & I must say I find it kind of funny after Rossi's hissy fit on INSISTING that his bike have Bridgestones or he would leave the team that he's been getting smoked by his teammate on Michelins.
btw did you see where Roger Lee had his pinkie finger amputated? And bother Tommy is in the hospital too, both crashes were caused by being taken out!

Yea those tracks suck! I can't believe they are having a GP at INDY!!!!!
Elkart Lake or Mid-Ohio etc would have been better choices. Who's blowing smoke to the GP boys????

Had nearly the same thing happen yesterday on a mtb ride I was doing with these two women. One of them hit a rocky section and her hand came off the grip and she hit her brake lever with her fist and it sorta ratcheted forward. She stoppend and as she pulled it back into position it clicked like it had a detent in it. Its probably a good thing she was going slow as where the lever endend up it would have been hard for her to reach with her small hands. Maybe the brake levers are made to do that. I have the same ones (juicy 5's) but Im not going to try it out and maybe break a lever
I dont see a listing for this weekends race over at CN. At least not the MGP.

how the hell is Hayden's bike 6mph slower than danica pedrosa's?
DP on the other hand....i only wish the worst. i hope america shows their support of nicky by booing the hell out of his punk ass so-called teammate.
but with how theyve handled the danica vs hayden thing, im no longer a fan. honda america would never put up with this, but HRC in japan are a bunch of a-holes if you ask me. how they let this shit go on is beyond me.
hayden's gotten the raw deal since day one. theyve never seen him as anything more than a developmental rider (despite dani-dipshit's claims). even when he was in the '06 title hunt, they made him constantly test new parts rather than go with what was winning. thus the reason hayden didnt dominate like he couldve. meanwhile they give prick-drosa the proven stuff to keep him in the hunt.
and to this day hayden is still considered the B rider. fuck HRC.
