I think Huckabee is about to announce on his show that he's running. He and Ted Nugent just played Cat Scratch Fever. I guess Sweaty Teddy is Huck's Chuck Norris. Smile

I guess he's not running. Bummer, and just when I realized who he reminded me of:

I would love it to be Jeb Bush just to watch the Libs blow their gaskets,
but realistically I hope Mitch Daniels runs.

It's interesting to talk about but really, what difference does it make? They all promise blue sky and chirping birds. The first one that say's: " well, we got tough times ahead. Tighten that belt up a notch because the shit's on. All I can do try and keep government from making it worse." he's got my vote.

He's a little too quirky for me. He's got this hangup with the gold standard. He's like most other politicians in that because they know a little about something, they know enough to take control of it and fix it for everybody.

He looks like someone that has a "special" room in the house, where nobody else is allowed. Strange packages keep showing up from Tutu's R Us.

Yep...huckabuck is out. Rick Santorum is now associated with a scandal:

Sen. John Ensign sex scandal spreads to other Republicans

The batshit twins Bachmann and Palin have no chance nor the balls to jump in.

Romney is my guess for the early favorite to win the Republican ticket.

That's why I said he wasn't running in the previous post when he announced it. Smile Who's left? Herman Cain, but not according to Fox News. Every time they show a list of candidates he's never on it, even though he won the first debate. Not sure why they don't like him. I'm sure other people here would have their theories.

Short of a major disaster, there is no one in the game as of yet capable of beating Obama.
All the polls show it and for most of them, common sense proves it.

While Iike Romney somewhat, he's got a lead anchor on his ankle with the Mass. Healthcare law he signed in and Obama used as a model for his plan.
Huntsman seems cool, but his baggage is being part of Obama's administration and an inability to keep the Chinese from fucking with their dollar and keeping trade fair.
Paul just comes off like a loon
Cain has no chance because he comes off as a loon at times
Pawlenty is as exciting as turtle racing

Want a winning GOP team?
Marco Rubio and toss in Jeb Bush as VP at the convention. Be a slam dunk, but won't happen

And BTW, Jeb can't win at the top of the ticket, he can thank his brother for that

2012 is the yeat the Tea Party breaks away from the Republican Party. They may not have their own candidate per se, but there's going to be a major ideological split and they'll have their own candidate in '016. For '012, they'll force a Republican candidate so far to the right to win the nomination that he'll be unelectable in the general, and both sides will decide that's no way to go forward after that. The fact that people actually consider voting for Ron Paul for president tells you how ridiculous conservatism has become in America. Ron Paul is just Donald Trump with no money.

No shit, I brought that up in another thread. Whenever they show a list of candidates he's never on it and they rarely mention his name. I don't get it but there is definitely some reason for it and I would like to know what that is.

Because Cain comes off as just another business guy, a virtually unknown business guy, with money who wants to play politics in the big leagues but has no experience, even in the minor leagues.

You also run into problems with columnists and radio hosts, as they've said hour and hours and hours of shit, once he reaches a point of viability, someone is going to pour through all that stuff word by word and they'll find something. No way anyone can be host so long or write so long and not say something stupid or ignorant.

Cain has also said he'll discriminate against people based on their religion in his cabinet/administration...he won't hire Muslim's simply because they're Muslim's, and Muslim's can't be trusted....Go America!!

I don't really know that much about him (have not heard the Muslim thing before this). I would like to know more about him though because he does seem like a possibility to me at this point and he did win the first debate which is why I want to hear them talk about him more. If he does become viable to his party I will certainly put in more effort to research him.

Talking to reporters afterwards, Cain also said he thinks the imposition of Islamic Sharia law is a legitimate threat in America and that he would not appoint any Muslims to any positions in his Cabinet if he were elected.

“I will not. And here’s why. There is this creeping attempt, this attempt, to gradually ease Sharia law and the Muslim faith into our government,” Cain said. “It does not belong in our government. This is what happened to Europe. And little by little, to try to be politically correct, they made this little change. They made this little change. And now they’ve got a social problem that they don’t know what to do with hardly.”

If the GOP can't find anyone better than those guys, Obama doesn't even have to campaign!

Huntsman is a true middle man....all the utah neo-cons hate him, and all the utah radical libs hate him (the couple that live here, at least. Smile ). So he might be on to something...but he's got the baggage of the Obama administration which will turn off the more extreme republicans but might actually appeal to the independents?

I could probably vote for huntsman. But outside of him there isn't anyone on that list i'd vote for. If that's what the bring to the table, I just might vote for Obama.
