the old Carlsbad USGP and Superbikers.
You wait a whole year for it to come back.

The Xgames make MX and almost makes SX look like lawnmower racing.
Someone got smart and built a cool track.

Give me a USGP at Carlsbad or Superbikers anytime over over rated games any day.

Yep, so weak its on 16 years and no one outside this sport really knows who the hell Ricky Carmichael is.

Or Barely James Stewart.

I liked the sport more when nobody outside the sport had even heard of it. When if you saw a guy wearing a Fox shirt down in Vegas you knew he was in town for the Supercross. The sport has been gayed up big time to become mainstream.

Half the board wants it to be core, and the other half wants it to be like NASCAR.

It's like when you love an pretty unknown band, you wish they stay underground and never sell out. Being one of the few knowing something so cool makes you feel special.

The BIG difference here, regarding MX, is that the biggest the market the cheaper the prices of the bikes. Unless you don't believe one second in the economical principles that built your country.

X didn't make it 16 years because of motocross. I personally enjoyed the X games more when dirt bikes weren't involved. If I want to watch racing, I will watch SX and MX, not X games where a few guys from the top ten show up and nobody other than Hanny really gives a shit. Pretty lame IMO.

Could not agree more. I don't understand why rally cars or supercross even get on the event. It reminds me of how tennis and golf are now olympic sports which I think is BS.

X games for me is about BMX and skate boarding. This is the one event of the year where those guys get to show their stuff on the big stage.

The economic principle here in the USA is capitalism.
The principle of supply and demand which you reference is universal, eh?

It is too simple to say that a bigger market leads to lower prices. Demand could just as easily outstrip supply, leading to higher prices at least in the short run. Most likely in a capitalist sytem is that supply and demand find equilibrium, but that does not necessarily imply a lower price. It could be that the market proves willing to tollerate higher prices. Wouldn't that suck? LOL

Gravity was cooler than X for me. Those were the days.
I made some good friends back when I covered FMX. It's nice to see some of those guys doing well.

I love Xgames, they have the cool Other dirtbike stuff, see guys do the craziest shit every year in best trick, step-up is awesome just crazyness, wouldn't be cool to have like a whole series of step up events but it works perfect for the games. Also I did like the supermoto race alot too.

I don't get the hate. X Games is an awesome event, they have cool tracks, some of the coolest events and they broadcast it for the whole world. It was cool seeing a friend of mine talk about Carmichael after he had seen MotoX Step-Up.

I'm not crazy about XGames, mainly because FMX is getting VERY boring and the XGames racing has always been sub standard compared to any of the 20 odd AMA races through out the year. But regardless of what sport it is, there is usually something wild that happens each year, so I like watching the high light videos each year.

Like Tony Hawk said about skateboarding in the Olympics, I think XGames needs moto more than moto needs XGames.

FMX is a different kettle of fish though, XGames put FMX on the map!

@Crush... Got to say, is good to see those hills in action again!

No sorry man, 3 years too early for me! I got a 1991 SX season round up for my 12 birthday in 92 and I've been hooked ever since! So my moto trivial knowledge only starts at 91 haha.

The good thing about the X games is that it does show how an event can be pulled off without motherf#@king track blocking f#@k the fans banners. Ok, I feel better. It's eastcoast morning coffee time.
