It might be common knowledge to some of you, but what was the deal with the woody woodpecker graphics? I always wondered as a kid.
Honda famously run minimal sponsors to keep the look corporate, let alone running a cartoon character. How did it end up in the graphics scheme? Were they sponsored by the studio who makes the cartoon?

Advertising deal with a studio, iirc. I think there were some other limited / one use alternates too, something about dinosaurs maybe?

Like you say, I dug it, was a break from Mr Honda being so super serious.

I never saw any of those! That’s pretty amazing the universal studios sponsored a supercross team. I wonder if we will ever get to that point again. Energy drinks are boring.

I think Sony Pictures sponsor TLD GasGas don't they? Not to the full graphics level but certainly some kits (the Venom kit stands out).

Was lucky enough to score a set like this when Jason worked with White Brothers and I was with Honda of Houston. Was back in 05/06 I think, when Honda started going away from Woody. Felt like the mother f'n man with these on my bike and was barely cracking the top 5 Laughing

I loved that orange gear with the chrome logos. I wanted it so bad but by the time we could afford it on clearance, they were out of pants that would fit and the jersey was 3 sizes too big. Ordered the jersey anyway and swam in it for a summer as a kid. Grinning

My wife ran them on her 2003 CRF230. I remember being surprised that Throttle Jockey was making them for the 150 and 230.

We still run them currently. Factory Effex did these for our '00's.
(We took some artistic license since they didn't start running them until '01 or so at Honda.)
