Wet oil filter

I had some oil filters for my Ktm 350 in the back of my truck I forgot to bring last night. It rained, they got wet. Once they dry will they be ok to use?

I would not use them. I sent some filters to Hi-Flow one time and they checked for moisture content.

They probably swelled up if they are a paper filter and may not flow oil as well when they dry. At 6-7$ a pop I'd just toss them.

The real question is: do you want to risk blowing up a motor for the cost of new filters?

I'd say no.

Does the filter get wet when you run your engine? Just asking.

It does. Some people dip them oil before putting them back in. But oil and water are two different things. Toss those things
